POLITIFACT BREAKING FACT CHECK

Despite online conspiracy theories, tenured professors and members of Congress are not generally recruited from bus station dumpsters

But maybe, just maybe, we would do better if they were? What do we have to lose?

However, bus station dumpsters are a completely safe and effective place to live. Everyone should live in one.

Yes, and please make sure you accurately call people who live in bus station dumpsters unhoused! A dumpster is not a house, and that is virtuous, and so is being unhoused or using the word unhoused.

I was in a forum for nonprofits and one of them - a “new startup nonprofit” who “deals with the transitionally unsheltered” - with no money, no written budget, and no idea how to create one was mad because “none of the other local nonprofits will share their budget and donors with us.”

I spent a lot of Tuesday nights when I lived in NYC sleeping in a homeless shelter (a Presbyterian church) as a volunteer to make breakfast, etc., for the guys. The group was honest about what it was: Partnership for the Homeless.

Amy Loftus's avatar

Absolutely. NextDoor was utter madness when I glimpsed at it in 2019. I live in an area of LA that Chris actually said might even be slightly worse than his community. It’s insane. And a current project to renovate a hotel for the homeless has the nuns who live next door ambushed. When those who took a vow of service identify predatory taker energy in people who can’t be helped, because they don’t want it, you get the real story. That no one here will hear. Even with the correct terminology.

Uh Chris, expecting Senators and Presidents to have unimpaired cognitive function while they rule the world is so twentieth century white guy.

And we can’t have that now, can we? Because expecting cortical neurological function for high level officials, who can launch nuclear ( or “nucular “ if you speak GWB) 🚀 and spend 💵 in the trillions, above the level of a nematode high on tide pods is the worstest fascism of all. Pouty face.

The reality I believe is that the Dems have such little regard for America and for their voters, dead, alive, and illegal aliens, that it doesn’t matter who is in the chair. They are placeholders for the Neo- feudal regressive brain trust actually making the decisions.

Never mind also that the leftist dingbats are blithely giving a hundred billion plus dollars and advanced weapons to Ukraine which has thousands of Nazis fighting under its military command. And never mind that they left 80 billion dollars of our weapons in the hands of the theofascist Taliban when we ran away from that protracted military debacle. Or that they’ve all been bought off (elite capture-merger) by the totalitarians in Beijing who harvest organs from Christians, mass incarcerate Uyghurs, and execute more people every year than any other country by far. No Chris, it’s people like you and Tucker and Steve Bannon, who use fascist terms like “ first amendment” and “rule of law” that are the real fascists. I’m so upset I’m gonna have to go to a poetry slam with my drum circle.

My 30-something daughter and 30-something son both agree with what's in the link I posted above. They remember life before internet. They have seen the hugely detrimental effect on their peers and on society in general. Your comfort with pointing fingers at boomers and whoever else you feel created the societal problems we're seeing now is a sign of denial of the obvious. May it hold you in your stead, for whatever that is worth.

This is an irresponsible conspiracy theory until thirty seconds AFTER they swear her in... at which point the new-incumbent Mrs Fetterman must be praised to the skies for her lifetime of tireless support of her mentally-disabled husband.

At that point, the new irresponsible - BRUTAL, VICIOUS, HATEFUL, ABLE-IST, PROBABLY RUSSIAN - conspiracy theory will be that John Fetterman ever held the position now held by Mrs Fetterman.

Any claim that he did, will be swiftly DEBOONKED by Liberal-Arts-C-student interns at DEBOONKED-dot-com and trumpeted to the world by the NYT and Bezos' Blog.

We are living in profoundly unserious times.

As a species we have lost any credible claim that we deserve the title 'sapiens', let alone 'sapiens sapiens'.

I agree with everything except that all these people are dumb. They're not. Certain among them understand that a significant segment of the US population is so desperate to be right, to be safe, to be whatever, that they will believe literally anything, no matter how contradictory and out of touch with reality it is. They just have to give them an excuse, like suggesting that greater free speech is fascism, greater access to guns is fascism, and expecting someone who wants to wield the power of a senate position should perhaps be responsible for being honest about the condition of his brain, a servant of the people rather than served by the people.

In other words, creating an alternate reality for these people is not hard at all, and the ones you describe as "dumb" know this.
