Left-wing people always cite themselves.

Want to pretend crime is low? Take control of the reporting mechanism and disregard nearly all reports.

Then cite yourselves.

I can't help but notice that the people saying well ackshually, crime is down, trust the numbers and not your feelings, are largely the same who relentlessly use emotional arguments to push gun control, trends and stats be damned. It matters not to them that crime fell dramatically from the 90s while guns proliferated, that CCW holders are more law abiding than cops, and that knives, blunt objects, and human limbs are used to kill more people than any sort of rifle. The 4th circuit even previously upheld MD's scary looking rifle ban partly on the grounds that if it makes people feel safe, that's enough to make it constitutional. So while I agree that people should look at things rationally & quantitatively rather than emotionally, the libs are the last people who can make that point since they don't actually believe it.

Since the vibe shift and the election, we can criticize leftist failures like this and not have internet cancel mobs trying to hunt us down and end careers for “hate” or “misinformation” or “racism.” Funny how Trump defunded USAID, Biden's censorship-industrial complex got exposed, and then cancel campaigns shrank to insignificance, as if they’d been part of a government-funded psyop all along.

The table on the home page shows the 2024 homicide count was 187, higher than any year from 2006 through 2019, and double the recent low of 88 in 2012.

Can you imagine hating someone you never even met so much you would defend ANYTHING they are in favor of? Like child rape?? I thought child rape was THE ONE thing everyone could agree is wrong.

Not anymore. If Trump says pedophilia is wrong, the left says you're an intolerant, bigoted pedo hating, right wing nut job Nazi worse than Hitler.

This is mental illness of the highest order.

Have you noticed how often Trump uses that to his advantage? He’ll take a common sense and majority-popular position and the Democrats will reflexively oppose it. After all, you can’t ever agree with Hitler! Taking anti-common sense positions makes it hard to win national elections, but somehow the Democrats haven’t yet figured that out.

It’s strange because at least the top people should get it by now. Scott Adams was writing about Trump’s techniques even before his first election. Parties spend millions on opposition research, so it’s hard to imagine they didn’t read a bestseller by a big name about how Trump persuades people, puts himself in win-win positions, and puts his opponents in lose-lose positions.

It’s more likely some sort of internal split in the DNC prevents them from responding better. Maybe the Trump = Hitler faction is overruling the more sensible types.

Just last weekend, I was in the company of a woman wailing about not being able to watch Big Bird with her grandchildren on NPR. I overlooked her confusing NPR with PBS to inform her that Sesame Street is now on HBO. “What? I’d have to pay for that,” she whined. I was soooo very happy to let her know that Children’s Television Workshop, the longtime producers of Sesame Street, have been VERY highly paid in that transaction.

It did seem that escalated her angst, because she soon erupted that “Someone needs to kill him!” And repeated it that day and the next.

The second time around, I told her not to say that again, that more political violence would be terrible for the country. So perhaps one 68-year-old woman wielding an engraving tool will not accomplish what I have come to learn that many other deranged persons are calling out.
