Yesterday I was listening to a podcast, either Rogan & Trump--or (this is really good as well--David Gornoski & Darryl Cooper--Cooper makes one of the most fascinating interpretations of what Christ's incarnation meant to God--super interesting--https://open.spotify.com/episode/14Sbk5HCHom2rSxKbHQ2r1?si=1f88e606e36b4c06)

It might have been something about the lineup at Trump's MSG rally--anyway, my eyes just filled with tears. Tears of optimism, joy, hope, connection. When all of these men are willing to risk their reputations, livelihoods, and friendships to support Trump--I was inspired for the first time in a very long time.

People I admire were talking about values that I try to uphold. What an amazing group of people who have gravitated towards Trump, this is like the very first "Dream Team" for the Olympic Basketball team. Back then I thought it was a bit over the top--today I recognize this group of men and women may be our last chance to save this nation.

Paul tells us in 1 COR 13: , "...And these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."

He's probably right--but right now hope feels GREAT!!

God Bless America. We are winning!

Keep the faith - but still encourage ten like-minded friends to vote between now and Tuesday! It ain’t over til the fat lady sings!

Wow! Thank you for posting the link. I'm sure I would have seen it at some point, but I just now watched the whole thing. JBP is seriously inspiring and his assessments of the X-Men and their leader is truly motivational.

Heidi Kulcheski's avatar

I love JPs take on it. Well done

Bandit's avatar

That was one of the best, most fascinating, and interesting videos I've ever seen. Thank-you very much for posting it!

Brian Nelson's avatar

Thanks Lynn. Big fan of JBP! I'll add it to my lineup. Have a great evening.

Lynn,

I listened yesterday and again my eyes were misty. Same response I had had earlier. Thanks for the post. What an extraordinary group of people to assemble at the same time. Feels almost like Providence.

do you remember if it was gornoski on cooper's podcast or vice versa - i will jump through just about any hoop to avoid spotify and its incessant ads

thanks!

I listened to the Gornoski-Cooper interview too and felt the same as you about Darryl's take on God's incarnation.

Brian Nelson's avatar

Cool. Glad I’m not the only one. Kinda like his interview w/ Tucker, any different interpretation of our ‘national myths’ is verboten. I’m glad to hear Cooper on more podcasts.

After I posted the link and my editorial comment on it, I realized that I exposed myself a bit. I imagine there are some who will take offense to his comments.

I had forgotten what a genius Mel Brooks was!! CLASSIC!! Thank you!!

Hugh Wayne Black's avatar

Mel Brooks was definitely a genius, but in his times he was unburdened by PC obsessed idiot fun governors!!

Brian Nelson's avatar

Agreed. If you’re PC, you cannot be funny by definition. The woke are the most humorless, angry, hate-filled people since the KKK. They are incapable of laughter, unless it is a schadenfreude-filled laugh.

In case you didn't see this, I'm posting it again.

Look at this. He loves kamala. https://x.com/MelBrooks/status/1834375935895937244

Hugh Wayne Black's avatar

That’s Ok. Mel Brooks is old like Joe Biden. They both like Kamala 🤷‍♂️. I like Mel’s work, but I’ve hated Joe Biden throughout his entire political career. Mel’s made some blockbuster hits. Biden’s made piles of bullshiit. They’re both senile old men now. Let them have drinks together at their assisted living center.

“Nurse! I need your help to raise my glass to ask for another!”

suannee's avatar

Yes. Unfortunately, he might influence a lot of admirers to vote Kamala for no other reason than that he endorses her. I have a niece and sister who both have severe TDS. Their reasons for voting kamala are that she isn't trump. I know, I know. But really.

Tardigrade's avatar

That's one Mel Brooks movie I've never been able to see. Now I understand there's a gaping void in my education.

suannee's avatar

You can think again about Mel Brooks. He endorsed Kamala. Here it is.

30 years ago people could have different politics and still be friends. Refusing to read someone's books or watch someone's movies because of their politics is another manifestation of today's polarization, which most people deplore and yet still practice—that way lies bookburnings. So I make it a point to not judge someone's work by whether or not I agree with their personal life.

For example, Henry Winkler also endorses Kamala Harris. I've met him and he's one of the most wonderful human beings on the planet. I still think so, and despite his politics, wish him a healthy and happy birthday today.

Suzy Cue's avatar

Remember, almost all celebrities are liberal democrats. Who cares about their opinions? Absolutely meaningless and irrelevant.

suannee's avatar

A lot of young people will vote kamala because Taylor Swift. I might suppose a lot of old people will vote kamala because Mel Brooks. I don't care about their opinions, but as they are paid a lot of money to endorse certain candidates, I suppose "research has shown" they do have an effect.

suannee's avatar

Agree, but I shudder a little at how adoring people can be of these same celebrities.

The steal is taking place as I type this in Pennsylvania, and they're not even trying to hide it.

As I've been saying for months, they're going to blatantly steal it and dare us to do something about it and probably WANT us to do something about it so they can round up anyone who dissents and implement their martial law.

I don't know if it will work, but I do know they are going to try. This is an existential threat to the occupying regime. They can't afford to lose because it literally means death for some of them.

TOM SIEBERT's avatar

That and this:

I was turned away from the Bucks courthouse on Friday at 3:45-ish (I have the Park Mobile data to prove when and where I parked). There were 5 others turned away at the same time and more were walking up as we left. I went back yesterday and watched the officials in the video above walk past me with that sign around 2:40-ish yesterday to cut the line off. They removed the sign a while later, I didn’t check the time. Shortly after that, Bob Harvie, a county commissioner, walked past the line of voters and went to speak with the cameras. I assume he was the one that said there was a “miscommunication” and that no one was being turned away and that you could vote until 5pm.

To top it all off, once you got inside the courthouse and got to the board of elections, they had TV screens flashing instructions about the voting process. One screen said that, while the office was open until 5pm, they reserved the right to cut the line off and refuse you service at any time so that employees could leave on time. Those are not the exact words, but it is the sentiment. This, however, is not the law.

It took me 3 hours in line to vote yesterday. I wonder if the people who were with me when we were turned away on Friday ever went back.

Well, stealing the election and waiting for the white middle class to erupt in anger would confirm the Deep State's seemingly baseless warning of "white supremacist/nationalist violence". They'd spin it as a reaction of mediocre white males unable to cope with a POC lady president.

I fear that this is what is headed our way.

OldSysEng's avatar

if the election is stolen, the white middle class needs to quietly go on strike. No discretionary spending. Buy anything needed second-hand if possible. Pay down debt. Minimize loans. For what you must buy, support local businesses as much as possible. Stay away from chaotic situations. Wait for the craziness to subside. They WANT people to resist their tactics.

TOM SIEBERT's avatar

This is 100% what Ive been saying. We need a massive "quiet quit."

You are absolutely right. But I'm sure the military has some kind of backup, and who knows what that might entail.

TOM SIEBERT's avatar

That's exactly what they're going to try to do. "Christian Nationalist" will be the targets. 400K Americans on the roundup list, Jamie Raskin spelled it all out, as they are required to do.

I will preface the following comment with this: I have the utmost respect for most women. Something approaching 3 out of 5 of you people are normal, well adjusted, thoughtful and caring adults raising families or otherwise taking care of people you love and enjoying a happy life. What we are seeing right now is the other 2 losing their tiny collective leftist minds because Orange Hitler Gunna Steal Muh Abortion. It's stupid, vapid, baby killing hysteria turned up to 11. Yes, they are reliving Sodom and Gomorrah. Yes, it's a ploy for power. Yes, it's hilarious, and it isn't going to work, but damn ladies...get those freaks under control - and if you don't mind, I'll be over here laughing at them alongside you.

John Geis's avatar

Tucker interviewed Jimmy Dore recently, and they made the point that the Harris campaign made the switch from “Pro-Choice” to “Pro-Abortion.” Being 100% pro-choice isn’t enough anymore – you have to WANT to kill your baby. This is demonic.

Just An American's avatar

Funny that you mentioned it, I had just finished watching that interview a few minutes before I typed the above rant. I think most people are waking up to the nonsense. I figured it out years ago. Was the plan to make everyone so broke that they would be forced into aborting their children because another mouth to feed is out of the question?! If that's the case, then they nailed it! GO Kamala 2024!!

John Geis's avatar

I think the plan is to find the cheapest labor conceivable (Children working in hazardous chemical plants without safety equipment? Sign us up ASAP!). There is something beyond greed, called avarice, and I think the wealthiest, especially the multi-generation wealthy are 100% OK with that. Accumulating wealth solely to have a bigger pile.

But the Avaricious have lost sight of something: if they extract every conceivable dollar above starvation wages, there will be no market for their products & services. The same goes for the wholesale replacement of skilled manufacturing labor with robots.

How this sorts out in the fullness of time, I’m not really sure. But rising wages under Trump 45 was the cause of Biden opening the border wide to import illegals to drive wage rates back down.

Not only do I see the outrageous sound bites on MSM but the local campaign ads, Democratic, have so many lies and falsehoods I can't believe it's legal...just my 2 cents...

Rob Mac's avatar

This overt secretion of tainted propaganda is only feasible with state controlled media.

Taylor Quinn's avatar

We can only hope that we are witnessing the death throes of a passé, moribund phenomenon. This may be one of those re-aligning elections.

It may take a while for them to finally be dislodged from their positions of cultural power, however; they still have control of the traditional media and cultural institutions. Some of them may even try to side with the coming new Zeitgeist, or appear so to do.

Surely we are in for some very perilous, peculiar, and interesting times. I agree with Mark Halperin: when Trump wins, as it seems likely (barring any election malfeasance), I expect an epic meltdown, a tremendous mental health crisis, the likes of which we have never seen. I expect my Rocky Mountain enclave to be relatively unaffected, but I can definitely see other areas of the country going completely insane.

Chris Bray's avatar

I hope, pray, and beg the universe for a re-alignment.

Rob Mac's avatar

I don’t land on insane anymore. Perhaps it extrapolates undue credit. Don’t get me wrong. I did, but now I see two very distinct camps. One are the cliche boorish unimpressive evil power hungry globalist elites. The others are the naive pompous lazy dystopian dumbasses. They are like a three year old with a loaded pistol. I'll be honest, I'm getting rattled by the reports from PA on X. Staying away from the screen would do me good. I may work on sudoku and listen to The Student Prince. Or flip through my old art history book from the 70s.

Susan G's avatar

I live in PA, the other side (Western). I'm following Walter's advice and avoiding screens. I plan to get up and go vote when the polls open at 7am on Election Day. If a line, I'll wait. If anyone tries to make me get out of line, I'll call the police. If they don't let me vote, I'll call the media.

Early voting in PA ended today. It is possible that the staff at this early voting site was just overwhelmed. I live in the 2nd most populous county in PA and we had only five sites with limited hours.

The PA AG is a Repub turned Dem (in 2023), Michelle Henry, who was appointed by the Democrat governor, Josh Shapiro, to replace him when he became governor. The Secretary of the Commonwealth is Al Schmidt, an alleged Republican who testified before the Jan 6 Committee, and was ALSO appointed by Shapiro. This position, the chief election officer, is appointed in PA. 35 states in the US elect the Secretary of State.

Given the above, I believe it unlikely people with voting difficulties will find much help from PA officials. I pray my analysis is wrong.

mileytheduchess's avatar

I'm in SC, which is a safely red state. I took my old MiL to vote early. We tried 3 times and finally ended up parking in the handicap spot and they came out to the car. I had no intention of waiting until election day. You never know. I hope you're going early!

John Geis's avatar

My wife saw the deceitful voter video, and mentally puked. She’s the daughter of a steel worker from western PA and speaks her mind. The idea that she could be intimidated into voting against her better judgement is laughable. Been married 45 yrs.

My heart was warmed by Cackles’ wonderful depiction of the average male Trump voter, i.e., the Nazi regalia was left at home in the closet.

My suggestion would be to take this time to get rid of your television. We dumped ours in 2009. And prior to that we had a strict limit on the # of hours it could be turned on each week. Back then we had kids at home. Today, they are 37 and 33. Neither of them watches anything on television except hockey, football and motocross. And we live on our sailboat and still don’t own a TV. If you get rid of yours, you’ll never regret it.
