The damage was more than done by the time he got his semi comeuppance (justice would have been prison, and not the country-club white-collar type of prison). The smarmy self-righteous Trinity Park progressives whose insanity he fully endorsed and encouraged throughout the Dook mess have no regrets. Nifong should have been immediately tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail for his public statements, not to speak of worse behavior behind the scenes. I'd like to see that kind of disincentive come back into active use for corrupt and malfeasant DAs.

Just heard on a morning radio show that our unduly installed Valley Girl Governor is talking about indicting Trump in AZ, using the same basic charges as they did in GA.
It just never ends with these people -- and I don't know what they're so scared of. They'll steal the next election, just like they stole the last 2.

I’m honestly still hoping and holding out that the 1A will solve this. I’m terrified of the 2A becoming the tool for resolution, even though I understand that that’s why it exists. I truly believe the current far left democratic government abhors the constitution and is seeking to abolish it for their 1-party rule and an autocratic style tyrannical government controlled by rich globalist business elites.
I don't know about that, since many of the GA charges against Trump seem to involve free speech. We can only hope that some judge with integrity may throw the whole thing out.
I see no way that this lawfare genie will be put back into the bottle. Like impeachment, it will be hurled at every serious republican contender. Power is the only thing that scares the weak. The question remains, will Republicans use power to indict democrats?
They will not. National Republican officeholders seem to be remarkably committed to their weakness.
