A candidate for a seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has just released a campaign ad featuring comments made by Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer last month:
I realize I'm preaching to the choir here on the ol' Substack, but I'm starting to feel 1) that i'm getting an up-close real-time historical lesson in how societies collapse; and 2) that one of the main unspoken causes/drivers of what we're living through now is a fatal epidemic of cowardly careerist CONFORMITY.
Is there anyone up on that dais who would call out Barbara Ferrer for her dishonesty and incompetence? Anyone in LA govt? Anyone in CA govt? Anyone in the Democratic party? Any member of the legacy media?
Is there anyone in any academic or cultural institution who stands up against the authoritarian turn in all our institutions? Anyone who disagrees that the entire purpose of art culture history civics science etc shouldn't be "antiracism" and "correcting historical injustice"? Anyone!??!
Is there a single liberal in modern America brave enough to utter a peep of disagreement against any black person or member of a sexual or ethnic minority group?
Is this still all about Trump? Did he induce such a raging mass psychosis in our leadership class that they really believe that the only way to save the village (the village being America) is to destroy it??!

I so agree. Cowardliness is a major factor. And as your succinct word careerist indicates, a raging need to hold onto the newfound power and ego-stroking received from each other and unthinking people who swallow their narrative whole and beg for more. Only thing I would add is the thick coating of evil on all their schemes. There is no way that huckster's like Fauci, Klaus, Tedros or whomever is pulling Biden’s strings believe their own lies and think they are doing good. They know it’s evil.
That's one of the most flattering pictures of Barbara Ferrer that I've ever seen. In my household, a public statement from our county health officer is usually announced with, "THE GRIM REAPER HAS SPOKEN."
I have family stuff to do, so I'm struggling to get through the whole thing, but as I watch Ferrer's Powerpoint discussion, with lots of charts, she never says a single word about obesity or Vitamin D deficiency. It's all vaxxed vs. unvaxxed, full stop. So much more to say about this, but I don't have time to say it until later today. It's absolutely insane.

The truth about eugenics is that "proper" breeding doesn't facilitate excellence. The only way these subhuman inbreds can stand out is by destroying the species, and for them that is entirely acceptable. Rousseau talks about them in Political Economy, which I consider the most important work of the last 500 years. He describes the problem in perfect detail, and leaves no doubt at to what the solution is -- at least in my mind.
