Let's just assume from now on that I'm always going to have another thought right after I hit "post," and everybody just always read the comments thirty seconds later. What we need right now is to hear from people who can speak with clarity and calm, who can reduce our anger and division and find some way to talk to people across the partisan divide, or I guess the plural partisan divides. Biden's speech is so tanked up with darkness it's nearly criminal. Dripping in blood! Medieval hell! The excessiveness is so extreme it begins to remind me of Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet.

Expand full comment

How in the name of anything do you speak across... whatever divide this represents?

This is people who believe the sky is blue and people who believe the sky is red and filled with raining fetuses and chittering crickets.

Explain to me how this doesn't warrant anger or division?

Expand full comment

A fair point. It doesn't merit this bizarre old man's description of a blood-drenched medieval hell, though. It's like he found a way to be shittier about something that didn't need it, while not noticing all of the real divisions.

My original comment stands.

There was no blood, no "spears," NO ONE KILLED except for an unarmed PROTESTOR.

The narrative has as its entire foundation a depiction of reality that is objectively untrue.

This should make it a nonpartisan issue. But it doesn't. We're past that now.

So 34 year old Roseanne Boyland who was taking Adderall, either by Rx or illicitly, fell to the ground unconscious. Her boyfriend called for help. A capitol police officer in the act of beating another "protester" mercilessly assaults Roseanne's motionless body beating her with a club on the head and upper back but does NOT offer assistance or to get medical aid. How is this not the "I can't breathe moment" analogous to the interminable George Floyd upheavels of summer 2020?

Because white and a conservative Trump supporter, deserving of whatever the cop doled out. Same holds for all those charged in J6 who have received the most brutal treatment from the DC law enforcement system. meanwhile, illegal aliens transporting obscene amounts of fentanyl are released within 24 hours never to be seen again, all of the Antifa/BLM rioters who burned and looted had their charges dropped, never spending a night in jail …. I could go on. If you’re on the left, you get a pass; if you’re on the right, not so much.

I think 70 to 80% of Americans will get along just fine, but the 20 to 30% who support those now running the country are beyond reason.

@chris

I think you and most of us know at some level what's going on here w this kind of rhetoric. It is the age old, tried and true prerequisite to mass murder.

Every mass murder in history includes at some point the "othering" and dehumanization of the target group. Before humans will slaughter other humans, especially former neighbors and citizens, they must come to see the targets as non human, objects undeserving of sympathy, compassion etc...in need of extermination.

That's what's going on here. Not just Sock Puppet either. There is a concerted and seemingly coordinated effort by the Regime and Oligarchy to Other everyone opposed to their increasing totalitarianism.

So...um.. we are just a wee bit late to wish for leaders who calm things down or reconcile the partisan divide. By engaging this language and these techniques, the Oligarchy is clearly telling all of us their intention to kill us. No fooling. They want us dead. Embrace that truth and start finding local networks to resist the coming pogrom.

Expand full comment

My impression is that a Rwanda-style mass murder is out of the question in a country where the target has hundreds of millions of guns, but that the "non-human objects undeserving of sympathy, compassion" are being subjected to a slow war of attrition through suicide, drug overdoses, and declining birth rates. It's a war against the human spirit, a war of despair.

Well don’t forget hunger and famine- not hard

That's an interesting thought Lw. Considering that the vast majority of hitherto Regime supporters live in or near big cities, that whole hunger famine thing won't play real well w their base. Those of us in the country close to food production...not as much.

Heck yeah, Chris, I agree they will have a hard time getting away w it, but they are prepping the ground nonetheless.

And, sure, there's the psy ops part of it designed to dishearten, grind down, and immobilize the resisters. But they are definitely using this kind of dehumanizing language to condition their kool aid acolytes for killing.

After watching the video a few times, and having lived with someone who was afflicted with Alzheimer’s, I think I know what’s going on. There are a few steps people go through when they have Alzheimer’s. The first is where they forget things they say and will repeat a question several times because they are having problems remembering. They want reassurance they aren’t losing their mind. The second step is anger and literal rage at times. This step can be dangerous because they now know there is something wrong with them and it’s beyond their control. They lash out at times and can be fairly violent. When my grandmother was going through this stage she had an incident where out of no where she turned and looked at me and socked me in the eye. Then began screaming at me aging the most foul things. I had already been warned by her doctor, so all I could do was endure the outburst. A minute or two later she asked me why my eye was read and I told her because you hit me. She started to cry and was apologetic. My mom wasn’t so lucky one night and attacked my mother by beating her and kicking her. My brother had to restrain her until my mother could get up and give her a sedative injection. People will make up things to get angry about and they don’t really know what’s going on. This video reminded me of the anger step with my grand mother.

The next stage is a calmer person but they are almost someone else as they are losing their faculties of who they are. The fourth step is a calm almost catatonic state with mild lucidity where they might remember something from their past or someone as another person who is no longer around. This is also the step where the body starts shutting off so they begin to feel physical pin resulting in needing to be prescribed morphine. It’s a horrible process for all involved. It’s also not a rigid step sequence and can ebb and flow into and out of each other. All the family sees and experiences is their loved one wasting away until the person passes.

It’s sad and sick that the democrats are forcing Joe to continue on and it’s quite clear now that he is no longer in control of his faculties. Which begs the question, who is?

While I should, I can find no sympathy for this man and hope his journey into the afterlife is one of many horrors and pain. He has done nothing his entire life except to cause suffering of his constituents and later the entire citizens of the Republic. He is also a traitor by his own volition and words. As are all he has surrounded himself with. With his finger on the nuclear button, I hope he is removed from office before he starts an exchange of ICBMs with another nation.

I'm not arguing with your experience, but in this case he was working from a teleprompter and I really doubt he wrote the speech himself.

Expand full comment

Of course he didn't write the speech himself. We have witnessed his deterioration over the last 2 years. He can't get a sentence now and he forgets frequently.

Expand full comment

I'm sure very few presidential speeches in the last 50 or 100 years were written by the president. I said that because of the original post talking about how people with Alzheimer's behave.

Expand full comment

Yes, sorry if I came across as sharp or accusatory. I certainly didn't mean that. Presidents have speechwriters, we know that. However, presidents also go over the speech and will change words or edit to make it more their own. As an example, President Reagan had to keep inserting "tear down this Wall" into his Berlin speech because his speechwriters and who knows who else wanted to remove it.

Biden is almost beyond being able to read off the teleprompter. Remember that cue card he had in his hand directing all his physical actions and words? He's almost beyond that too.

Expand full comment

I never discussed how Alzheimer’s sufferers are fairly easy to manipulate in certain situations such as having them read a script. I’ve now seen the entire video with its multiple jump cuts. The reason he was getting noticeably irritated may have actually been triggered by him having to redo sections of the speech resulting in him becoming angry.

Nor did I say he wrote the script either. That itself doesn’t have to be explained as we all should already be aware that most scripts politicians give are written by staff. To have be informed about that itself shows a naitivity to politics in general. I was merely positing a question of if Biden is so far gone already, who is making the decisions and running the show? Jill invoking her inner Elenor Roosevelt? Elenor was a diehard communist who hired nothing but to her staff and making her hotwheels husband hire communists to his cabinet as Venona Report revealed vindicating McCarthy. I know it isn’t Harris, that idiot couldn’t think her way out of a shotgun house. Let alone convey an idea about such.

Now there seem to be a lot of intelligent people gathered here, so pls someone help me out and try to answer a question I'm struggling with:

Has there ever been a group/party/tribe etc as maniacally obsessed with their object of hatred as the Left/Dems are with Trump?

I'm not the oldest, wisest, or best read, but I try and still I'm stumped. Did the Confederates hate Lincoln this much? (probably) Did the pro-Republic Romans hate Caesar this much? Did Europeans of various conquered countries hate Napoleon this much? Has there ever been an American prez who became the all-consuming all-encompassing White Whale of a political party and half the country like Trump is? Jackson? FDR? Nixon? And for now going on SEVEN years!?

I just have never seen this level of deranged monomaniacal hatred in my lifetime (and I'm 53) and I have never seen this level of unhinged "I will destroy everything as long as I destroy the one I hate" vendetta (and I'm Sicilian!).

Are they really gonna destroy the traditions, coherence and credibility of every social and political institution because of one (mildly effective, mostly histrionic) man??

Appreciate any light someone can shed.

Biden is just a disposable platform to deliver the globalist agenda.

I'll posit the twitter echo chamber has a major influence here, something that did not exist for Reagan or any previous figure. The visceral need for affirmation from the elite cult leaders results in twitter addicts giving each other an hourly fix. Truth is a distant second to another rage hit. The whole thing is a PR effort.

Add in how the media is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Deep State, which is itself controlled by a global elite with an agenda to create an ideal future. This future does not include fossil fuels and cannot be implemented when randos like Trump with a USA first agenda get in their way. They want a solar powered Linear City future and you will eat bugs because traditional farming is evil. To save the planet they are willing to starve the humans infesting Gaia, hence fertilizer cuts that result in less food like in Sri Lanka or the Netherlands or Canada. All the crazed trends like CRT and BLM and COVID lockdowns and the intersectional agenda are simply vectors to impose control. But the globalist agenda can go horribly sideways. Just wait till Pakistan with a foreign exchange hemorrhaging ala Sri Lanka falls into the hands of the Taliban. Here, have some nukes.

The globalist agenda is absolutely deaf to US citizens. It can only shout their propaganda and squelch opposition. Their side breaks laws with impunity, America first folks are prosecuted for walking into the capital.

The only question is can the strong bones of American exceptionalism shake off the chains.

There are good explanations for the derangement and hatred we are witnessing.

Eric Hoffer's slim book, "The True Believer" is excellent.

Mattias Desmet's new book, "The Psychology of Totalitarianism" goes a long way to explaining this.

Gad Saad's book, "The Parasitic Mind" explains the followers who are truly deluded and don't know it.

Have you forgotten Bush Derangement Syndrome? It was intense, but you are correct, not as intense as with Trump. Could be because Trump is a real threat to their aspirations. He is beholden to none of them. No corporation or world group owns him or can lay a glove on him. He is at heart an honest, patriotic man. Is he flawed? Sure, who isn't. But he's the best one to tackle the deep corruption in our government. Trump is a true threat to their greed, corruption, power grab, etc. He has the cojones.

“Trump didn’t act” is a lie. He authorized the deployment of National Guard troops, which is the most consequential thing he could do to prevent a riot and support the police. How does Biden think Trump could have restored order? By tweeting? That assumes that Trump supporters were mindless automatons carrying out a secret plan. They were not and are not. They weren’t at a planned protest rally at the Capitol because Trump believed the election was stolen, but because they believed it was stolen.

The protest rally did not become a riot because Trump called for one, but because of provocateurs like Ray Epps, the aggressive actions of certain members of the police, resulting in the deaths of Ashli Babbitt and Roseanne Boyland, on the one hand, be and the strangely passive actions of others, who waived the crowd into the Capitol, and, ultimately the lack of sufficient security. If Trump had tweeted his supporters to stop, the Democrats would be citing that as evidence that Trump knew he caused the riot.

If the troops had been accepted and deployed, if the cops did not take provocative actions like shooting flash grenades into the crowd and throwing a man off a balcony, and if other cops didn’t open doors and waive people in, there would not have been a riot, Congress would not have been interrupted and, quite possibly, would have voted for a short delay in the certification of the election.

Expand full comment

"would have voted for a short delay in the certification of the election"

This is the key and i think the election fraud was so blatant (stop counting in swing states, when has this ever happened before?) you couldn't even have had that short delay in the certification process for anyone to look into it. The entire thing reeks of the Reichstag fire. Burn the place down, blame your enemies and then outlaw them as an opposition party. People have been saying since the rise of the Clintons that the MO of the Democrat party is to accuse your enemies of what you yourself are doing. From what we learned in Russiagate and essentially all actions by Democrats since 2016, wouldn't that seem to be the case?

I agree. Trump didn’t benefit from the “insurrection.” It was used by Trump’s enemies to try to shut down any potential investigation into what happened on Election Day, which, as you note, was unprecedented. We saw it unfold right before our eyes.

The problem with reaching across the partisan divide is that on the other side is a sea of people who believe Trump, climate, C-19 and abortion restrictions amount to an EXISTENTIAL THREAT -- that is the theme that underpins the left's propaganda machine. Ergo -- any move at all to mitigate those things, even if it is in the form a corrupt, lying leftist party, is necessary. Even tyranny is better than having a Nazi in the WH, a dead planet, biblical plagues and attacks on women's autonomy. That is how they see it.

I believe it is a form of mass mental illness driven by florid propaganda through curated social media feeds and legacy news. I've tried fact-based discussions with loved ones on these topics and get nowhere. Until 2016, I was a lefty so my credentials should still mean something but they don't .

All that matter is I don't support THE CURRENT THING.

There were several obvious bad actors, often called out as such by the protestors. Guy dressed in black except for a Trump bumpersticker on the back of his helmet trying to break a window for example. Another live video I have not seen since was another man all in black with helmet and facemask near where Ashli Babbit was shot. In the minutes before Ashli was shot the person filming was panning about, showing people packed in like sardines, with a couple cops amicably talking with people. This one guy in black stood by a post not 10 feet from where Ashli would soon be shot. He simply repeated ACAB over and over. Who the heck was that? Someone intent on pissing off the cops for one. Maybe a 3 letter agency plant, or antifa, if there is a difference. Absolutely not one of the protesters who were overwhelmingly patriotic. Anybody else recall ACAB dude? Share a video?
