Reading the quote from the “Trump is toxic masculinity” article, I assumed the article was written by an AWFL and I thought - where is Nick’s father? So then I clicked on the article and found that the quote was from Nick’s dad. No wonder the kid is looking elsewhere for masculine leadership.

Yeah, at first glance I thought that Guardian article was written by a woman. It just had that feeling. Then I read the passages where the writer identified himself as the 21 year kid's dad.

Either it's fanfic written by a woman pretending to be a man, or it's the girliest girly man to roam God's green earth.

This new buzzword “ JOY” really speaks volumes to how clueless or willingly dismissive Democrats are of the financial struggle our economy is burdening people with…. Rent, insurance, fuel, food , etc and our newly crowned Marie Antoinette pleads for donations flashing her $62K Tiffany golf necklace…. Somehow Harris is more tone deaf than Hillary Clinton…..That’s hard to do.

This focus on "joy" has been a savvy move on her campaign's part -- so far -- as they're using it to do a Reverse Uno on the attacks on her laugh and speeches. It takes the focus away from her policies and replaces it with a cult-of-personality approach.

Which is just what her stans on social media and in the MSM want it to be about. Kamala the Joyful Warrior; Tim Walz the Happy Warrior. It's all about iconography they can align themselves with for likes. And media is running with this narrative with enthusiasm. They're all about the vibes and how it's exciting the Harris/Walz ticket's supporters.

I find it in stunning bad taste. There not too much to be happy or joyful about these days. The deception the US Government has perpetrated on the American people is heinous. Starting with Hillary, to COVID, to framing Trump to masquerading Biden as normal, etc etc etc… they continue to offend the shit out of anyone who is not a sheep… their arrogance is rife.

She's also said to be a termagant. We all remember the fifty - one intelligence officers who swore that the Hunter Biden laptop was ingenuine. We need to find at least as many former Harris employees who will testify to what a superb**** she really is.

It's terrible that this is what politics have decayed to, but we did not start it. We are true reactionaries. We just wanted to be left alone. They wouldn't do it.

For another thing, I hope the Trump campaign is preparing scores of ads which will show Harris at her most vacuous, as hard to determine as that may be.

This would be a masterstroke: getting Estee Palti, the comic actress whose Harris impression is uncanny and a delight, to introduce Trump at his biggest rallies. ( If you don't know her work, go to her YouTube channel. I don't know how much of what she - as - Kamala says is pre written and how much is Miss Palti's improvisatory genius. My favorite is one she's used a couple of times, Kamala talking about drawing inspiration from her ovaries. )

I first began to notice this "Why are you so obsessed!?" style of argument when Jesse Singal and other writers began to gently prod the sacred Trans narrative. Because Trans is sacred it can't be rationally discussed or questioned (especially with non-cult members), anything not obedient and worshipful was treated as moral pollution and instead of debate a line of attack was created where the REAL mentally ill person was the journalist asking questions.

"Like, why are you so obsessed!!? The science is settled, love wins, it's just being polite and helping poor sad children find their True Authentic Self™—why are you like totally such a white bigot?!"

I guess this means we've replaced the evil white male habits of reasoned debate with the evil white female habits of social shunning, rumor and gossip, and cooties?

The Age of Social Media is truly the stupidest time in all recorded history, we are menaced by armies of entitled children who've never read a book, never countered an unapproved thought, but have rock-solid opinions on everything, at least until the virtual herd decides a new opinion is needed.

American Idiocracy needs and deserves Kamala as its queen, she is the emptyheaded empty vessel that best represents what we've become in the second decade of the 21st century.

There is the counter-arguement that when you bottle up the natural conflicts between peoples who are more-or-less forced to live together, for whatever reasons, conflicts like the two you mention are the inevitable result.

In my language, we say "Lika barn leka bäst" = "Like likes like", roughly translated. It bears out - serbs with serbs, kroats with kroats, et cetera. Mix'em all together and it always turns out volatile, once the dictatorship holding the lid on is removed.

And the US of A has been virtually forcibly mixing peoples for +70 years now. Jugoslavia is what you'll be getting if you're lucky. Odds are increasing year over years that you're facing the same as the USSR did in the 1980s: slow dissolution into natural territories.

Your point is well-made though: while I understand the sentiment of wanting the bad burned away, in reality (as I've seen myself more than once) that's not what happens.

Ode to "Joy"…

Oh the joy of having uncontrolled borders that allow millions upon millions of illegal aliens to enter the country unchecked.

Oh the joy of an already stressed health care system becoming further bogged down by illegals using it for free.

Oh the joy of seeing the taxes on our hard earned money being used to pander to, and support those who are here illegally.

Oh the joy of having elections that are so loosely monitored that the public has lost confidence in the outcome.

Oh the joy of having enough fentanyl coming unchecked across our southern border to kill millions of Americans.

Oh the joy of having sanctuary cities where illegal alien criminals are free to roam and prey upon American citizens.

Oh the joy of having a media that no longer seeks the truth, but has dedicated itself to supporting the Democratic establishment.

Oh the joy of having a country being led by an aging, mentally failing, habitual liar who has dedicated his life to enriching himself and his family.

Oh the joy of having our country run by an unknown, behind the scenes cabal pursuing goals entirely their own and not the electorate.

Oh the joy of having a two tiered system of justice where one political party is demonized, hunted down and imprisoned.

Oh the joy of having our government conspire with social platforms and the media to control, manipulate and censor information.

Oh the joy of anticipating life under a Harris/Walz administration.

I don’t think I noticed it before the first Clinton campaign in ‘92, but there’s been a surge of people wanting to feel like their president cares about them, personally. It’s only gotten worse since then. I realize it’s a fundamental problem with people not understanding their government or their role in it, but it’s both a pet peeve and it creeps me out.

Having government take a personal interest in you is like having Sauron’s eye taking an interest in Frodo. It isn’t going to end well for someone. These people want government to be their security blanket, a surrogate parent. It just doesn’t DO that sort of thing. Government is force, and when it takes a personal interest in a person, it’s to be their jailer.

Expand full comment

The liberal Government wants their people to want them. For 80-90 years that's all Government has been doing - making it so people rely on mommy Government for everything. You are correct - it's all about power. When the Government has it, you don't.

"This ride only stops at an emergency. Crying is not an emergency"

I guess wide swaths of the society has really gave up contributing anything forward. This is nihilism at it's apex.

Also curious, that one of the main points against the more autoritharian type was always, that "they need a dear leader/big daddy who solves their problems". As I see it, this dad only is in their heads, because no responsible father figure would let his children stay this vulnerable against the world. No father have ever say to them, "Don't know son, solve it somehow" or the most important in this context "You can cry, as long as you still do it".

Goodbye...have to thank someone, for not raising me incapable of living.
