Culture shock for me. In the Northeast, where I'm originally from, the waitresses call the customers "honey." Never fails to make me laugh when a waitress or store clerk calls me that, although I'm probably older than her mother.

I drove from California through Texas thirty ago on the way to Minnesota where my wife and I were moving, and stopped at a small town diner for a very early morning breakfast. The food was good and so cheap I wondered why they bothered to charge for it. In any case, I ordered eggs with hash browns. The waitress asked what kind of toast I wanted and I asked if they had sourdough. She replied, “hon, ah don’t know whut thayt eeyis.” I guessed that rye would just be asking for trouble.
“Chicken fried STEAK”. Way different. I only allow myself 1, maybe 2, a year. Any more than that and I just could not deal with the overwhelming bliss. Just saying.

I'm not too sure where the Left feels that they have a base of power to start rounding up the opposition. The woke DOJ and military are way upside down in the ratios.
