Tuna melt = mailed couch. That is the funniest thing I’ve read in days. 😆😆😆

Agreed. Another great Chris Bray analogy.

Seriously. 😂 I like Jeff Childers' substack as much as the next guy but he's got nothing on the curmudgeonly superior wit found here. He should have at least as many followers and paid subscribers.

Love the "Actual image of Chris Buskirk".

You are absolutely correct in your observation that "they’re just consciously and calculatedly lying". The entire industry has evolved, (devolved?), from information dissemination, to an unrepentant purveyor of propaganda.

I know too many people like these journalists. They really believe what they say. They are completely disconnected from reality and it's connected to the narrative of their tribe which has been intentionally shaped by billions and billions of dollars of narrative control efforts. They really believe this shit. It's so sick. It's worse than empty.

I know a guy who works for CNN but is one of us. He keeps 100% under wraps. He says judging by the people he talks to, they actually do believe the crap they spout.

These are my friends, family and colleagues. They are sincere. They still believe all of it. Still hate trump w every fiber of their being. Still think Biden is competent. Still think Rachel maddow and Jen Psaki are hero feminists... echo chamber life

Expand full comment

I don't trust any public figure - even Trump (I speak of his judgment, not his intent). But he seems to be the only non-corrupt figure in US politics today. Despite every "investigation" there is apparently nothing they can get him on.

Expand full comment

I'm with you. I trust none of them on either side - certainly at the federal level. I think local politics are more of a mixed bag, and it's harder for "the cabal" to control every local election and party and all of their activities. They still try, and succeed to some extent, but... I think there's some hope of integrity at a state and local level. But nothing attached to the GOP or Dem establishment is trustworthy. Nothing and nobody.

Expand full comment

If no other benefit came out of Covid hysteria, realizing how important local government is to our quality of life was an eye-opener.

Expand full comment

That is even scarier than they don't believe it but just do it to keep their jobs,... or maybe that's even worse. Bad either way I guess.

Expand full comment

If you think about it, you've always known that a huge percentage of the population is completely unquestioning of the narrative that is mirrored everywhere. Why would news organizations be any different?

Expand full comment

I’ve been trying to understand why but it’s obvious as you say here. Edward Bernays has won.

Expand full comment

But then again, my original question remains: how come it didn’t work on us?

Expand full comment

Probably we just weren't paying attention in brain washing class. Journalists and their followers are mostly the people who paid very close attention but never understood. They took notes and they learned to dupe what was fed to them but they only really duped themselves. They shoved feathers up their butts hoping it would make them chickens.(In Tyler we trust, even 25 years later)

This crowd on the other hand, got the gist of it and got distracted by a sandwich or something shiny(yay boobies), and just missed the brainwashing, which is why my brain is still so dirty. A sense of humor is a big part of it. I for one will never again listen to a news broadcast without trying to put together a joke about a tuna melt and couch getting mailed to Finland. It's like being innoculated but without the nanomachines getting it on in your capillaries.

We can stand the psychic pain that comes from standing against the tide. Possibly because the pain of denying the truth is worse (to us).

I think a lot about that Dion. What clusters of factors are more likely to result in skepticism in this instance? there are always skeptics, but They always count on us being a small enough proportion to control and discredit. I’m still wondering if this went better than they thought it would or worse. I still wonder - I suspect yes- if they truly overplayed their hand and can see that there are too many of us now.

Expand full comment

My suspicion is that the miscalculation was in the lethality of the virus. If the virus had been 5 to 10 times as deadly as it was, then all of their actions would seem a lot more justified and reasonable even to the most skeptical. If people were literally falling dead in the streets, like in the videos, we would all have taken the shots and be thanking St. Pfauci of Pzizer by the grace of god for them.

Their plans were all calibrated for a more deadly virus.

Expand full comment

And so they lie about the lethality. That seems likely to me too. And they're still lying. But so many of us know now. Do you think they expected more or less injury from these various injections?

Expand full comment

Because some people still have the ability to think critically and for themselves. An art that is rapidly being lost in today's world.

Expand full comment

This is the great lie of our age and how everyone remotely Left defends and rationalizes every thought and action (while also patting themselves on the back):

EVERYTHING they do is to help the brown and black marginalized (this works as slogan, sales pitch, marketing and dogma), THEY represent a sacred multiracial Benetton utopia, and anyone who even quibbles is of course just a Nazi Klansman.

Lost your job to a racial quota and complain? Bigot.

Seen your whole community wrecked by Fentanyl and mention how it comes across the open border? Bigot.

Are less than enthusiastic about enforced "antiracist" training? Bigot.

Don't want your daughter sharing a shower with a boy? Bigot.

ETC ETC...

I hate to be monocausal and monomaniacal, but ALL OF THIS IS STILL ABOUT TRUMP.

The corporate ruling class and their tag-team partners in the progressive oligarchy are still out for blood, the downscale whites who dared vote for him need to keep being punished, they deserve and will receive open jails, open borders, and a daily tsunami of racialized hatred aimed at them until they are somehow neutralized or chastened into submission.

Expand full comment

The everything-is-racism stuff predates Trump, or at least the roots of it do. Opposing the individual mandate in the ACA was pure racism, was the story.

yeah i know you're right, it just feels like back then "Evil Whitey Must Die" was only played on a few stations, whereas now it's on every channel 24/7, in the weather report, sports, commercials, etc. It's like the Macarena in 1997!

Expand full comment

Evil Whitey Must Die was justified, was it not? It was pre 1990s when there was a cultural awakening brought to us by Tupac, Biggie, and Bob Dole's dumb wife via the profanity war. Not to mention Biden's racist drug war.

My teen years were late 90s and black/brown/native was hip AF.

I've heard a hypothesis that makes sense: the current Wokeism is a CIA (interchangeable with the Banksters?) op to redirect the important and effective Occupy movement. It makes perfect sense to me. Occupy was the most "over the target", collective movement I've seen in my lifetime.

Expand full comment

I think it comes from even higher than the CIA. E.g. one of the BLM founderS hails from the WEF.

Expand full comment

the WEF is not "higher" than the CIA, in my view. The WEF is just an international think tank. According the Whitney Webb, the WEF is modeled after a club Henry Kissinger started (but was apparently ousted) at Harvard.

The CIA has all the man power & black budgets to push forward whatever aspect they like from the think tanks.

We can only speculate. In either case, our labor and money is being used against us.

I think the profanity war was Tipper Gore, but yeah. I think you and I are roughly the same age, and I've been struck by many of the same thoughts.

I am frankly awestruck at how opening up the House for *all* the members (not just the Republican side) is somehow destroying democracy. Freedom destroys democracy. More transparency destroys democracy. More knowledge destroys democracy. Time to read bills and amend them destroys democracy. We're just one step away from "voting" destroying democracy.

The sad thing is people never check what talking heads like Gay are claiming. If they did, they'd wonder, like I do, if these people don't have "democracy" confused with some other form of government, like, oh, say fascism or totalitarianism or oligarchy.

Picture riots with burning buildings and rioters/looters surging and shrieking. Chaos. Glass everywhere. Flipped burning wrecks of cars. It looks like somewhere amongst this urban war scene, Snake Plissken is looking for a presidents rebellious daughter to take back to the White House.

We want to believe that they are lying because we can't imagine them to be so shallow, simple minded, and manipulatable by the latest thing.

Some likely lie knowingly but others are joining the performative dance for the limelight.

This is another layer of wokeism and virtue signaling, and they have outsourced their critical thinking to the puppeteers of the current "politically-correct" ideas.

One of the great arguments for ignoring Twitter is that it's the den that nurtures this demagoguery.
