I am from the law firm representing sewers and we are suing for slander after you had the temerity to compare us to lawmakers. The very idea!

I completely agree with you. 'Comprehensive' sex education has been a farce from the start. I can recall all those many years ago, as a fresh faced 8th grader in 1970 how little gravity was given to the subject matter. Even taught by nuns at the Catholic school that I attended it seemed like the topic more enticed engagement with the behavior than anything else. By the time my son was going through it in middle school and high school, it almost seemed to me to be how-to classes than anything else. Now I read that publications like Teen Vogue includes articles on the many wonderful aspects of anal sex! Good Lord, why any parent allow their child to read that trash is beyond me. But how can you blame these publishers for wanting to monetize the issue, when they subject matter is regular fare at the local schools - during the elementary years!

We truly have gone off the rails. We wonder why kids are so confused and depressed all of the sudden. This has been a slow-motion train wreck. The problem did not start yesterday; it has simmered really since the Kinsey Institute came to be, run by a cabal of deviants and perverts. If you want to know more about that, read 'Kinsey: Crimes and Consequences', by Dr. Judith Reisman. It's not an easy book to read but answers many questions. All of the nonsense that we see happening today I believe was set in motion by the 'research' at the Kinsey Institute, and the wholesale convincing of generations of people that the only human appetite that neither can be controlled, nor should be controlled is the sexual appetite. We have so many hurting people in this world because of that notion: broken families, fatherless children, abused human beings, exploited human beings, trafficked people. The list could go on, but I think you get my drift. But we need to protect our kids from seeing guns and ammo? As my sainted mother used to say 'that's the silly-assiest thing I've ever heard!'

“ If the state capitol vanished into a burning sinkhole, I’d make the drive to cheer and keep the legislature from jumping out the windows to safety” now has a special place among my favorite sentences of all time.

Never stop writing, Chris. You do it so well.

This is 100% insane when this is also the same group of people telling you children are wise and mature enough to decide they are “born in the wrong body” and have full presence of mind about the long term consequences of puberty blocker, mastectomies, etc. The inability of this group to live with consistency or coherence is somehow still shocking to me. How were we blind enough to hand over power to these people? Do we have any hope of correcting course?

Great read Chris, thanks! Puts the form of words to my horror.

Yeah this reeks of unintended consequences as well when mRNA injections for things other than covid are more commonplace and minors there can get them without any restriction. Look forward to the definition of myocarditis in Wikipedia changing multiple times over the next few months and years as the number of youth heart attacks racks up and people get even angrier.

In a few years the age of consent will be 12. Epstein should have laid low for a few years, his Lolita express trips will soon be legal.

I came late to this article, but reading it two things strike me.

First, the most striking element of modern Democrats (I won't say liberals because most Democrats, especially in leadership, are not liberals) is their lack of consistency. You are a child until you're 26 for purposes of health insurance and you can't be exposed to anything gun related under twelve, neither of which is particularly life altering, but when it comes to "life altering" decisions like whether or not to sabotage your body with hormones or have parts lopped off or get an abortion because some perverted teacher abused you (yes, that's the danger I see) you are an adult when you're a tween? It lacks consistency, and when something lacks consistency, the point isn't really to protect the children. The point is something else.

Second, going back to the perverted teacher, as a liberal (and I still am one, I'm not going to allow that to be stolen from me), I understand that there is a role for adults outside the home to guard children against parental overreach. Children are not objects that are owned. They are little people in vulnerable situations. But if we're going to give a group ultimate sway over children's lives, at least (the vast majority of) parents have an emotional attachment to their children. For these activist teachers, these aren't children but little pets to allow them to virtue signal or manipulate for their own ends. That to me is a far greater danger than making sure parents, even the draconian ones, are in the loop.

Nailed it. And that sentence about guns being “attractive to minors” made me think of how we are busy coddling those who supposedly are, with a fancy acronym too, rather than calling them what they are: child abusers and child rapists.

I guess just wait a few seconds until surrogacy is legalized for 12-year-olds in California. I mean, better that it be legalized and regulated than left to happen without the state's OK, amirite?

I honestly cannot understand how anyone with a child lives in that state. The state thinks it owns your kid, and it doesn't have good plans for him.

Well put! I feel like punching a legislator now. What a sad state of affairs we find ourselves into.

These are truly sick people "legislating" in Sacramento. Push back everyone, go to your school board meetings and fight this crap. Moral wisdom lies with the parents, not the bureaucrats.

Spot on Chris, unbelievably believable from the dimmest bulbs on the planet.

Thank goodness California is taking this step to protect public safety! What an upside-down world.
