Don't worry you'll get a one day break from looking for pride patterns on Juneteenth.

My city is celebrating Juneteenth this year I think for the first time. Mind you, in my 23 years of residence they have never put up an American flag, or set off a single firework for July 4th. Never a small parade, no acknowledgement of it at all, yet they’ve decided to do this. And I live in a basically middle class city of working families, with a huge amount of retirees. I’d say 90% plus of the population don’t even know what the hell juneteenth is or cares. So I’ll do what I do every July 4th, go to the neighboring city to watch there silly little parade down there American flag lined Main Street, then watch there firework show that night.

You may be giving these soul-less toadies a bit too much credit. They don't care about numbers, budgets, California, etc—even if this state were to crumble in the morning our political class would be jetting East to see if they could maybe scavenge an NGO sinecure or a talking head gig at Harvard or MSNBC.

I'm starting to notice that our progressive aristocracy may have the worst case of status anxiety since the Court of Louis XIV The Sun King. But instead of "Did the King notice me?" or "I'm friends with the Holder of the Royal Chamber Pot" it's a desperate need to be seen as a prominent whited sepulcher: "Can I get a pic too with that Trans nun?" "Did RuPaul return my call?"

There's always been sleazy opportunists trying to ride the newest religious craze to power, relevance and cash, but now that our dogma is based on crowd-sourced victimhood (Get the New Progressive Flag! Now with 10% more virtue signalling!) these pathetic parasites are desperate to genuflect in every direction.

Every once in awhile a group arises that embodies the worst aspects of religion—fake moralism, cruelty disguised as piety, competitive virtue—with the worst aspects of politics—shameless greed and bootlicking, blatant dishonesty and corruption, staggering incompetence—and here we are again. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the leadership class of 21st-century California.

Great comment! The good news is - "the leadership class of 21st-century California" will crash and burn. Which is exactly what we are watching now. The bad news is, they're taking us with them.

Brilliant pattern recognition, comrade. Now it all makes sense. Explains why newsom is constantly shrieking about other states, but never doing anything to help his own. Incredible how nothing will stop Californians from voting themselves into a favela. you can’t reason with a demoralized person.

I’ll say this here because I can’t say it on Twitter ... what a bunch of freaks. I know a few gays and lesbians and the majority of them are all what I would call normal people who want to live their lives, be successful in their careers, be productive citizens, give back to their communities, and they keep their private lives private. It’s only June 5th and I’m already sick and tired of all the Pride crap and the explicit sexual imagery and nudity in Pride parades. 🤮🤮🤮

Exactly. As a gay man I really would like to keep the LGB and the TQA++ separate… seems like wishful thinking.

Also I love that there is now a pride flag and a “progressive” pride flag. Must signal harder!!!!

I have 2 aunts, 1 uncle and 4 cousins who are gay. They are so sick of this crap.

They feel like they've been sold out as charicuters for big Corp, etc.

They are sick of the assault on their children. Three of my four cousins who are gay have gotten involved at their children's schools to end this madness.

We need more good people like you to speak out about this.

Thank you for your perspective!

Are there special names for gay people who aren’t annoying in your face political instigators? When blacks don’t adhere to the plantation rules they are called Uncle Toms or House Niggers. Are there equivalent nomenclature for gays who don’t abide by the plantation rules?

I made the mistake of saying on Twitter just now that IMHO many of the TQIA+ have a form of mental illness. Account is now locked for a week. Funny, in the same discussion thread, other posters are free to call Christians pedophiles. So much for freedom of speech.

Expand full comment

I’m not sure if mental illness or group psychosis or are the two the same? It’s also an oblique attack on same sex attraction. “Oh you’re a girl who likes girls? Better cut your tits off and pretend to be a boy.”… the fact that parents go along with this stuff just boggles the mind, although after the covid exercise in groupthink nothing much surprises.

Love the post, Chris, but I almost think instead of distracting the public—they are distracting themselves from the pressing issues they face—that they don't want to acknowledge and don't have a clue how to fix. You can always spot the incompetent by how much busy work they're up to.

As someone who's been watching Lindsey Horvath since she was appointed to a city council vacancy in a small town, I'm 100% confident that you're right about this.

Oh, I know, it's dreadful and once you notice it; I believe it's even more infuriating to watch. I'd rather have them so clever that they're trying to deceive me, instead of being so dense they fall back into autopilot.

Expand full comment

I think this is honestly closer to it. Do they even think they can still distract people? Doubtful. It's all psychological coping on their part. They might be dangerously incompetent and utterly clueless as to how to fix things but goshdarnit they're good people and that's what matters.

Chris, glad you are enjoying this festive time in our nation. I’m currently celebrating GroomerGenderBender, sponsored by the CVS sex hormone catalogue, until it’s time for Dia De Los Pendejos, which is ironically a month long, and commemorates dumb people of all sizes and shapes, sponsored by The View. Then we all move on to celebrate Psychotropic Rx Anti- Fat Shaming Fortnight, co-sponsored by Pfizer and Spanx! It’s a busy season leading up to Climate Spasmteenth where we glue ourselves to giant hydrocarbon cracker facilities to protest energy and chemistry and stuff, sponsored by Dow Chemical and Tesla. I feel very fierce and highly authentic. Did you say something about LA county employees sexually abusing thousands of children?

Where is the nearest "giant hydrocarbon cracker"? Asking for a friend.

It’s held just outside of Houston, because there are plenty of crackers. There is an optional 3 day extension where you can glue yourself to a deep water offshore rig in the Gulf of Mexico along with Gwyneth Paltrow’s chiropractor.

It's the same in Canada aka Cold California. Being that Lindsey Horvath got her start in West Hollywood, the pride thing is probably rather fundamental to her and not just a convenient distraction. (Can’t believe I’m defending her... I lived in WeHo when she was appointed, not elected, to the city council, a 20-something with zero credentials for the job. As far as I am concerned she still has zero credentials.)

Many elected officials in California seem to wish they were social workers. Maybe that’s the Democrat mindset, but look at the bills pending in the legislature and consider which of them serve an actual purpose of government. Or which even serve all the people instead of a small subset.

Oh the other thing I wanted to say was that the June pride messaging is louder and more in your face this year than ever before. I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was.
