I'm guessing that if you replayed all the security footage from your city's five finance directors' offices during the years that no one could pass a budget, you would probably see Trump sneaking into their offices and stealing the rough drafts of a budget off of their desks on multiple occasions. Probably at the behest of Vladimir Putin. I'm sure the details will be unearthed eventually if the January 6th committee is given enough time to investigate.

For Team Blue and its media wing Trump has become a cross bw Emmanuel Goldstein and William Jennings Bryan, maybe w a dash of Vince McMahon or Rodney Dangerfield in "Caddyshack".

They hate him so much he is always first in their thoughts...so maybe the movie they're remaking is "Fatal Attraction"?

words you've always known that have been redefined as of 5 minutes ago: recession, vaccine, anti-vaxxer, terrorist (domestic), man, woman, pregnant, baby, gender, pronoun.

for heaven's sake, try to keep up!

I can’t stop saying this, when dem politicians figure out that there is no way to save the Covid titanic, they will finally figure out that they can jump on the Life boats by pinning it back on Trump. “The vaccines didn’t work, people died, infertility, myocarditis… we were deceived! Trump destroyed humanity!!! TRUMP DID IT!!!” (A few at FDA and CDC will get axed but they’ll be rich and will say “we were forced by…TRUMP!” The truth is Trump consistently listened to bad advice so he does have some serious responsibility, but let’s face it, this might be the final way to rid the world of TRUMP because many who voted for him are really really pissed about the Covid debacle and fake vaccines.

@short

Agree but as to Trump's bad choices, i read somewhere a very incisive critique that we are unfairly blaming Trump for terrible personnel decisions largely in hindsight. For example, how many of us were screaming about the foul traitorous wretch Mike Pence in 2016? Mad Dog Mattis? We all knew he was a sellout right back in 2017? And we all absolutely knew Sessions, Meadows, and senate leaders were all scumbags in 2016?

My big criticism of Trump is that he didn't seem to have anyone in his closest circle of advisers from outside the dc oligarch bubble (except maybe Bannon and he didn't last the first year).

Totally fair. I have certainly gotten a huge education on the past 6+ years. As an outsider Trump had to draw from the very Swamp he wanted to drain. Don’t think he or many regular folks (like myself) really knew how deep and wide the swamp was. Nor how thoroughly infested with snakes it was. Or, maybe he did know and it took someone with such a massive ego to take the risk against all odds. It will be a fascinating study for true historians.

It’s usually the mediocrities that have the highest opinion of themselves and delight in petty tyranny and dodging responsibility. Most of us just want to live in peace. But you can’t hand the keys to the kingdom over without some thought. And that’s what we’ve done. We’ve been lazy and we’ve discounted the power we’ve given away to our detriment. So, time to take it back. That is all. If they want a bitter fight, (and they do not)we’ll give it to them. There is no alternative. It won’t take that long once it’s joined in earnest. But it won’t happen by itself. The key is to take down the Democrats in the USA. The rest of the world will follow.

the last time i made this point i was promptly educated by the resident troll/dissembler that 'presidents have no real impact on the economy' - so i'm guessing that will be the line used.

Since you made me watch some Tucker Carlson (his gleeful laugh over how STUPID politicians are just gets me), his bit about Nancy Pelosi walking out of her press conference when asked about her husband making any deals based on knowledge she may possess was hysterical.

No wonder they need to keep screaming Trump’s name.

(But it’s like Beetlejuice, right? Keep saying it and he’ll be back. And they can only blame themselves. God help us all.)

Trump's victory in 2016 should have been the death knell for the Democratic Party, but somehow they spun it as a defeat at the hands of evil, wicked white supremacists. Let's hope the almost comically inept Brandon Administration is what pushes this vile party down a long flight of stairs. They need to go the way of the Whigs.

When I feel frustrated by the complete annihilation of Truth and Freedom, I read the deft Chris Bray, who somehow can rein in the runaway horses after the stagecoach has been robbed. I’m covered in dust and the strongbox is gone, but we’re all still alive. Thanks, Stranger.

The question here is not why are they lying about the state of the economy, we know why. It is because they have had their noses so firmly in the trough for decades that they have forgotten what it is like to manage the country for the people. Oh no the question is why they are lying by finally telling the truth! And it is true that 2 quarters of negative GDP growth do not a Reston make. No really (I’m not shilling for the elites here, quite the opposite so bear with me). In the USA the word on recessions is the National Bureau of Economic Research (the NBER). They declare all recessions and mark the dates of entry and exit. They do this in arrears not in real time (remember this, it is of vital importance). Not only do they not include GDP growth as one of their data points for this assessment but they specifically exclude it. And no wonder because it is a manipulated and defunct metric, as is inflation, used to make people think all is well while they are being ripped off via that most insidious of wealth taxes, decline in real terms income and asset value. And this wealth tax hits everyone except the Uber wealthy. What are the metrics the NBER use? Well you can look that up for details but in short it is 4 key metrics: 1) Real business sales; 2) Industrial production; 3) Employment; 4) Real personal income (net of government transfers). Now you know why the Fed is so obsessed with jobs numbers... It is a Ponzi scheme at a National and Global level. And it is about to crash because there are no more “greater fools”. I anticipate a final melt up to trigger the melt down and it will be of epic proportions (think 1929-36 levels), well remember that it took 35 years for the Dow Jones to recover back then...

So the question is why are they suddenly using the correct actual definition of recession rather than the lazy hack, Hollywood shorthand of 2 quarters of negative growth? It is as Chris suggests, that much manipulated metric isn’t getting the job done anymore and they are playing for time. Time for a miracle, a soft landing, another Hollywood hack meme. And also, crucially, they can’t believe they are losing control and that their great reset is under threat, because they knew this day would come...

Question now becomes what Americans and the West will do about it? Will we go quietly into that good night and become serfs once again?
