One of the hardest things to understand about this decade so far is what drives so many people to shape such sullen lives for themselves.

It is incredible! What do “they” see in their future? Do they even look ahead - I mean, for longer than the commercial interruption, or are they only planning for the next minute? It is truly amazing--- and indeed, how do they see this country in 2025 or beyond? If we keep going as we are America will be a violent, poor, third world country. No one will have a place to go.

In the 1960s, not having children became virtuous in media messaging. NB: not involuntary childnessless.

If you don't live for your children, and their children, and work to give them a better start than you had yourself, then what are you living for?

That sentence had been our species-wide natural meaning of life, out of necessity and ethics both since forever.

But with that necessity out of the way among the ruling classes and their propagandists (journalists, entertaintment media) or simply the bourgeoisie if you prefer, amassing personal and individual wealth and power became the ideal, as evidenced in the 1980s attitude peddled around by Hollywood and their kin.

A perverse blend of rational choice theory-as-ethics, objectivism taken to its nihilistic end, capitalism releived of any moral constraints and equality-means-equity plus multiculturalism creating the death spiral of the present.

Or summed up: "Après moi, le déluge".

Just a note: I do not have children - but I do want a better future for all who are coming up after me - if not better - at the very least I would pray that younger generations experience the America that I have. The America that I love and that my grandparents and great grandparents helped to create.

This country has been amazing - always striving to do better and be better until (surprise!) Obama, who was a divisive racist, and now ole’ Joe who is THE worst on every subject. Not only is America going backwards, we are headed to primal tribal ways. I have no idea how to help stop the backward plunge.

Prayers and continued grace in own words and actions..

Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World.

Christopher Columbus

I believe we are going to have to rebuild our civilization, because we seem to have lost our way. We are currently adrift in the maelstrom and it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Only truth tellers like you can light the path through the darkness. Courage.

You should read: "A Canticle for Leibowitz" by Walter M. Miller, Jr.

He was way ahead of his time.

I find him....problematic. He supported lockdown in the UK to start with and refuses to engage with anyone who challenges him over his stance. And he's now working for/with one of the organisations who helped pull the plug on the Canadian trucker protests, so he's not what he seems. His art can be great, I've found some of it moving, but I don't consider him a hero by any means. Other opinions are available, obviously.

I didn't know that -- what's the anti-trucker organization?

I’ve listened to several interviews with Bob Moran in addition to enjoying his art, and I don’t think Toffeepud is being accurate. If Moran isn’t pure enough, no one is

Hi Chris, sorry for taking so long to get back to you, time zones and all that. He is employed by The Democracy Fund, Canada. Which sounds like they would help the truckers, but no, they agitated to shut the protest down. My twitter bud @katecox uncovered it when she was looking into the role of trade unions in lockdown around the world. Bob has a profile on their site.

That's a shame and I didn't know that. I could forgive some low level pro lockdown people if they weren't lunatics about it, but by the time of the Canadian trucker protest there's no excuse for supporting any of it.

As a Canadian, I have to disagree. I can't speak to their relationship with the Freedom Convoy, but The Democracy Fund appears to have been great at helping students fight back against the vax mandates at Western University here in Ontario. One of their founding members, Julie Ponesse, lost her tenured position over her refusal to get vaxxed.

Are you sure about this? I think you may be mistaken about him. Bob is sponsored by the Democracy Fund. Have you seen his cartoons of Trudeau at the time of the Trucker protests? They certainly don’t give the impression he was against the Truckers. Please look at his website to see all of his pictures over the last three years and you may think again.

Yes, I am sure, I followed Bob from early 2020 on twitter and I know all about his former work with the Daily Telegraph (paid by the CCP to promote lockdown in the UK btw), how he came to be sacked and how the Democracy Fund stepped in to offer him paid work. I know he supported lockdown for a good few months until restrictions started to really affect his kids, and I also know he stands by his initial position.

So the people responsible for this crap get a free pass, right? Sorry, not in my book. You like him, that's your opinion, I find him disingenuous and that's mine based on interviews and following him since March 2020 on social media. We're entitled to think differently. Shrug.

I suppose one could ASK him directly. Hate the audience aspect of ‘social’ media.

I assume this is true. Do you have any documentation of this. Cuz I just ordered two of his "posters".

Bob's 'Keep on Truckin' cartoon he did during the Freedom Convoy was one of the most heart-warming and beautiful things I saw that year, and was what brought my attention to him. He's also been excellent at keeping the focus on the fundamental immorality of the lockdowns, vax passes, etc. and not getting distracted by bullshit arguments about data or 'we couldn't have known'.
