Mr. Kennedy stated that he attended his 1st DNC in 1960---when he was only 6 y.o.---and that his allegiance to the Democratic Party was set-in-stone from that experience. When I heard that he might endorse Donald Trump upon his withdrawal from the race, my hope was that he'd do exactly what he did today: trace the precipitous drop of the Democratic Party from where it was and what it stood for in 1960 to where it is today---a degenerate mess. What, if any, effect his actions and his speech will have on this election remains to be seen, but he did something today that many in this country have been thirsting for over decades: TRULY put country over party. The significance of a Kennedy---Democratic royalty---doing what he did took great courage, knowing that he is now anathema in a party he supported for over six decades. No matter my philosophical/political differences with him, I cannot commend his integrity, ethics, and courage sufficiently. Hats off to you, Sir!
I totally agree with your assessment Jeffry. It is not easy to follow your conscience when you know it will turn even many of your own family against you, and bring so many troubles and difficulties down upon your head. I am sure if he had somehow become a serious contender that he would have been just as likely to bring the same sort of thing that happened to his uncle and father. They denied him the protection to which he was entitled, but that did not stop him, and like Trump that is about all that could.
Perhaps RFK started a process for the Democratic Party like the antislavery Whigs did for their party – causing it to explode. A huge number of Whigs were strongly against slavery, while the Whig leadership was in bed with interests that profited from slavery. The antislavery folks abandoned the Whigs, who quickly disappeared as a political party.
Of course, donor cash wasn’t as vital for every office in 1854, so it may boil down to Dem voters just staying home election after election to use failure to force change in their party.
Unfortunately, this is all just a fever dream, because Dem voters have been disconnected from reality since the early 60s.
That's an interesting analogy. On a much higher level, Jesus (paraphrasing now) warned that following Him might result in the loss of family/friends. American politics are far below that in importance, but the principle is the same. Realistically, most people just won't risk it, but some will if the stakes are high enough. RFK set an example, making it acceptable to object to the status quo of the Democrat Party, and when a high-profile person (a KENNEDY, no less!) steps up like that, it just might give some others the gumption to do it as well. Fever dream---probably---but hope springs eternal.
I’m reminded of seamstresses in Nazi slave factories making gloves for the Wehrmacht. They would randomly turn a glove sideways on the sewing machine and sew across the palm perpendicular to the fingers, rendering the glove useless. You wouldn’t share your sabotage with fellow prisoners lest you be ratted out, but the idea was common enough to be noted in history.
Perhaps individual Dems will “sew across the palm“ by staying home and not revealing their small acts of defiance.
I saw Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg’s son on TV. If there is a better example of a spoiled, entitled, know it all ideologue ( Dan Goldman) please tell me. His know nothingness was on display. RFK has taken the high ground(not going against his family) If the other members of the Kennedy family believe the DNC BULSHIT AND METHODS, they are a very sad group.
Yeah! What a shit family he has now! I absolutely couldn't believe it when I heard they were supporting, at that time, Obiden/FJB!. They're shits, absolute shits! IMHO.
Every speech I've ever seen him give -- a number of them in-person -- brought tears to my eyes. I don't care what anyone says, the man is brilliant, patriotic, and beyond courageous. He's not perfect, god knows, but he is/was the most qualified candidate to take on the corrupt beast that has swallowed our government whole.
Same. Almost from the moment he began speaking today, I was in tears, and again at the end. He’s a patriot, and God knows we could use a few more of those around here.
Hear, hear. If given the opportunity by voters (and not denied by those who aim to cheat their way to "victory,") I pray Trump will work with Kennedy in good faith
It made me cry too, Mary. It was brilliant and the appeal to put our love for our kids over our hatred was perfection. No wonder he's not been covered of course. A serious person in a clown show is not allowed in.
I got tears during his discussion of Ukraine and again with the long analysis of childhood disease and the medical-agricultural-industrial complex. What's happened to children in the U.S. is nothing less than satanic. My lower middle-class family always voted Republican (my grandmother, especially, loved Eisenhower, possibly because her four sons all came home from WWII), but I did like JFK's emphasis on physical fitness and took some long solo winter day hikes in our nearby mountains approaching Kennedy's 50-mile target. Turning health around would be a real blow to the corporate whores of the WEF.
So let's all pitch in and help him or Trump to get elected. Dump loyalty the Democrat Party and get on the ground to promote Bobby's platform. This is OUR country afterall, is it not?
It was an AMAZING speech. I read his Fauci book, which I recommend everyone read. It turned me on to him. I think he and Trump will complement each other in ways we can't even imagine yet. Trump needed someone who understood how deep the rot is and is legally smart about attacking it. The two together can make REAL change happen.
Trump was surrounded by liars and backstabbers in his first admin. Hopefully, RFK can help him pick the right people this time.
I hope they increase both of their security now. They are going to be even more of a target now.
This is amazing news and I look forward to seeing how they can work together.
Just as we've seen a lot of bravery from other more orange individuals running in this election, RFK finally showed his, or at least finalized it. That was a GIANT middle finger to the establishment pukes in the corrupted media and the Democrat party, and it was spectacular. The line about the DNC convention: "...all smoke and mirrors. And balloons." - I mean c'mon, how can I not like this guy.
He inadvertently saved his life by dropping out. They can’t touch him now. They will make a martyr out of him. Pathetic that we have to even think about stuff like this in our country.
Such an awesome speech, straight from the heart. No teleprompter? Interesting that the networks, CNN, MSNBC all cut away from his speech as he mu*rdered the Democratic Party. Censored him again just as he charged.
I'm not sure about this, but my impression is that some of it was on teleprompter and he also added his own thoughts extemporaneously. In either case, he speaks with astonishing clarity.
I would guess a limited content on prompter with just subject headings and relevant numbers, like the health stats etc. But pretty impressive that it seemed for the most part just straight from the heart and intellect. Amazing speech. I am in the jackbooted UK, and God knows the Western world needs leadership from where I am. God bless him.
How many “power-hungry” people suspend their presidential campaigns without at least a consolation prize? Oh well, guess words don’t mean anything anymore. What else is new?
That's one way to look at it. Or, maybe, just maybe he cares about making a difference. No one knows but the one standing up and making his case. Personally I can't argue with anything he said.
Kennedy's comments on the DNC's deliberate subversion of the democratic process in so many ways are profound and important. There should be no question on who poses the real threat to American democracy today.
I watched it live. At my desk. First time I’ve watched anything at work in my long career. Glad I did. Totally agree with Chris. It should rank up there with one of the most remarkable political speeches in America’s history. Certainly the best in the past 35 years.
Agree Chris ….. Also , I'm so tired of them describing people, what really THEY are . There has been some bat shit moments the last few days … “ good luck pulling off my wedding band off my …” Nessel , such phony drama … nobody cares about her sexuality. I’m over the joyful lies and chaos they represent.
While I don't align with him on every issue, I'll concede he is a Great American, and that speech, if anyone is around to read/hear it 100 or 200 years from now, may be one of the most important speeches ever delivered in the United States. Hell yeah!!!
OMG- “most consequential “ is an understatement. Maybe “Holy shit” is more like it. If you have not watched Tucker’s interview with Calley Means” (who Bobby mentions in his speech) - you should. I have not been this hopeful in a very long time and I hope they both live to accomplish what they are setting out to do. God Bless them and keep them safe.
I had the exact same reaction. And I also watched the Calley/Casey Means interview. For a moment I was/am afraid for RFK Jr. it seems he just said about the FDA and other agencies, the same thing JFK said about the CIA. I can’t imagine they won’t go down without a fight - using all their available tools. Besides that, I’m very excited about the possibilities here. And yes - may God keep them both safe.
Truly awesome. The Democrats are losing their minds. A truly beautiful moment perfectly timed to smother any bump the pathetic Harris campaign may have gained from their repugnant convention - but more importantly to take a stand for the people of this country against the oligarchy that has done everything it could, including attempted assassination, to stop Trump from taking on the power elite on behalf of all of us.
I listened to the entire speech. Powerful. True. Persuasive. I kept thinking I’d share it with some delusional friends and family members — they will see just how wrong the media, establishment and Democrat party truly is. Right? Nah. The sheep won’t go against years of gaslighting. I’m going to try though. There is power in RFK’s words.
Note, at 54:30, his reference to "the devolution of American democracy." Tremendous clarity and directness throughout.
He is a man on a mission and much welcome I hope. God bless him.

And the Kennedy’s, his own flesh and blood, don’t support RFK Jr. Damn!
5,out of 100's, were overtly against him running, 3 of them work for the Biden Admin-so.

How do you really feel Bandit?!👍🤣💩
As someone who has no family that would piss on me if I was on fire, I feel bad for the guy!
Some do
Excellent summation, Jeffry! Bravo 🎉

Hail Mary ☺️ I love your comment, I do not believe the world knows what just happened as RFK’s speech needs to be chiseled in granite.
So let's all pitch in and help him or Trump to get elected. Dump loyalty the Democrat Party and get on the ground to promote Bobby's platform. This is OUR country afterall, is it not?

A real patriot. I fear for his life.

the Dems went out of their way to screw Kennedy at every turn. once again, the chickens are coming home to roost.
I kinda love it..!

Tremendously consequential interview.
