At the Pentagon press briefing, Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder has just said that construction of the Gaza port has "begun," saying that the Roy Benavidez had started the construction. But he hasn't yet addressed the absence of army vessels, or discussed the mortar attack.

A question notes that mortars landed near the pier site, but Ryder didn't address who came under fire.

Ryder has just said that the mortar rounds landed "in the vicinity of" the future marshalling yard for the pier, but no Americans or American equipment were hit, and no Americans or American equipment were on the ground in the area. They shot at some dirt.

Air Force General Pat Ryder has ridden air conditioning his entire life. Mr. Air Conditioning said that: "No....that spy balloon just showed up. We had no idea it was coming, and now that it's here....we are just going to let it cross the entire United States....no big deal, nothing to see here." These people are pathetic. Between him and "The Shortest Admiral" used car salesman lying about weapons to Ukraine, we are so screwed.

They were aiming at the Potemkin Village.

I'm surprised Ryder didn't say "it doesn't matter if we're there or not, or if anything was really shot at, or if any explosions happened, or if so, whether they hit dirt or the sea. Next question."

We all know they just make up a narrative as needed, right?

“At this point, what difference does it make?” kind of thinking.

They don’t care what is true or not. Reality mustn’t intrude on the plan.

and "why are we even bothering with your questions? We gave you what to print. [asks aide] Why do we still have these pressers?" [walks off]

I think the ritual pro forma of these things is totally coming apart.

It is certainly being exposed at greater and greater levels. I’m optimistic that’s a good thing in the long run.

me too. The plummeting readership / audience numbers for the mainstream press give me hope. People are seeing through it all.

Allow me to clear up the confusion. The General was referring to MASONARY MORTAR, as in brickwork mortar. The mortar "rounds" that were landing were actually cement mortar being flung at a Lebanese construction boss who had failed to pay wages on time. The Pentagon is actively monitoring the situation, and will take every measure necessary to defend American military personnel from flying mortar, and cement splatter.

We are only authorized to communicate the official nonsense that was told to me. Rest assured that as soon as we compile something that makes logical sense, it will be classified.

So it’s a false flag attack, and a really poorly planned one at that.

No, it was probably a real warning. It will not be heeded by DC or the Pentagon.

What is more interesting is the remarkable lack of vigor with which the Sailing Army is executing the mission.

Or the Navy.

Now people who serve their country on the Internet can now make jokes about Trannys etc, but in decades I never saw a tranny in uniform. I’ve only seen them on the Internet.

There are certainly problems, in particular the degradation of training to Propaganda from HR ratio skewed dangerously towards HR propaganda, collapse in morale, absent or abusive leadership and the rest. But that they can’t sail from Crete seems… improbable.

It’s almost as if people don’t want to follow orders and they don’t.

How strange, unless you read history, or can read men.

Politico gets the headline right: "Gaza-based militants attack Israeli forces preparing for US pier

No U.S. equipment was damaged."

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/25/gaza-terrorists-attack-israeli-pier-00154386

Compare this claim from Politico: "But the attack came as U.S. military personnel were scheduled to soon begin construction of the pier, which the U.S. hopes will drastically expand the amount of aid that can reach the enclave. The Pentagon has said the project will be operational by the end of the month or early May, and U.S. military ships are standing by to start the work."

...to the claim from ABC News that construction has been well underway for weeks.

It’s almost as if corporate media news is fake. Shocking.

When an American soldier is killed on this important mission, at least their family will know that he/she died for one of the great causes of our time, the Biden Admin's pursuit of a 2-state solution: winning Michigan and Nevada.

Am I too cynical when I think the entire plan is to sacrifice a few 'Loggies' (logistics soldiers) to justify going to war with Iran/Hezbollah/Hamas--whoever, while in the same fbomb breath--placating the anti-Israel fanatical element of the Democrats?

I'll answer it myself. No Brian. POTUS Shitshispants and the entire DOD leadership sacrificed 13 Marines and millions of Afghan people to have a neat and tidy 20 year anniversary withdrawal.

I despise these people.

I think that ABC News report describing the mortar attack on the pier that isn’t even under construction yet was sent from the future using alien technology from Area 51 by accident and now the CIA will have to kill all of us because we saw it.

Have no fear, Team America will show up and shoot at all four sides of this conflict:

IDF, Hamas, UN and overselves.

Theory: The defense lobby and neolibs really want more US military involvement in the Middle East, so they are fooling the media into spreading fake news about terrorists attacking a nonexistent US construction site.

Expand full comment

I would modify the theory slightly, because it's not really implausible for Hamas to fire mortars. So my version would be that Hamas shot at some UN dorks who were touring the site of a future thing, but the media reports are stripping ambiguity and making it a more direct attack on the thing itself.

Expand full comment

Yes. They definitely fired rockets at something, so it must have been a direct attack on the United States.

Expand full comment

I would suggest a further further minor edit: no UN dorks were harmed during the production of this event.

Expand full comment

Could I suggest a minor edit: "They definitely fired rockets at something, so it must have been a direct attack on the United States."

Perhaps, given the paucity of actual information, that might more aptly be phrased, "Somebody appears to have fired rockets at something, so it must have been a direct attack on the United States".

I suggest a further minor edit: It was a direct attack on Our Democracy.

Further the “temporary humanitarian aid pier” is really capable of multiple logistics access and uses. Oh say like Abrams M1A1 battle tanks, 155mm towed artillery, HIMIR Launchers, rolling stock of all weights and capabilities. US Marines have done ship to shore humanitarian relief efforts all over the world for more than 100 years. They did NOT need or use a full pier such the one being constructed. It seems the last time we built such an extensive pier system was June/July of 1944, at the Port of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin which supplies the allied fight on the western front in the fight against the Nazi Germany war machine. Hmmmm. It never ends one self licking ice cream cone melts in the sun and another one is ordered up. One continues to ask “what foreign policy? What defense policy? And for whom?”

By the way the US Navy vessel carrying equipment and material USNI 2nd Lt. John BoBo won’t be showing up anytime soon, seems the crew didn’t know how to put out a fire in the engine whilst at sea. A Navy that doesn’t float is not really a navy now is it? Men and ships go to rot in port.
