I have this vague growing apprehension that we are being subtly guided towards outright civil war. Clearly, this country is being intentionally divided into “Us vs Them” and discord is being fomented on a daily basis. My sense is that the elite Lefties want the Right to revolt so that they can use the force of the mighty US Government to squash the rebellion and silence all dissent once and for all. These “think tank” doofuses are unwitting (or willing) accomplices and are laying out the blueprint for what’s being planned. I find it terribly disturbing. Am I being paranoid? I certainly hope so!
This is actually good news: Misunderstanding your enemy (let’s call it what it is) is a remarkably reliable way of getting your ass handed to you. The more they disappear up their own assholes with this kind of nonsense, the more they make poor choices that will begin to cause a chain-reaction of blunders, in-fighting and ultimate disintegration.

The problem is that while *we* see this as masturbation, this sort of hysteria is the bedrock of weaponizing the Patriot Act against any Americans with "disfavored" views.
These people are absolute mediocrities. But I suspect their histrionics (how can the insipid prose of these bureaucracy-brains rise to the emotional intensity of genuine histrionics? They've found a way!) arise from a very real unease. They know they're despised, that their credentials and offices and honors count for nothing with a vast swath of increasingly impatient people who have taken to largely tuning them out. Confronting the honest reasons for this would cause too much cogdis, it would require them to critically examine themselves and ask what they've done to deserve this disrespect from the deplorables. And they've done a lot. So they pretend they've done absolutely nothing, that they are doing nothing now, and forge ahead towards catastrophic societal rupture because any course correction would bring their entire world down.
It's even crazier reading this if you live in Chicago and you were downtown last weekend when the kids were out wilding...I mean just enjoying the warm spring evening. Also, my 15 year old had a classmate shot and his brother killed over the weekend. But we'll be sure to get prepared for that right wing domestic terrorism that's coming.
Like ad-men pitching a product they know to be defective, they almost get to the point of mentioning the truth. A majority opposition that finds itself increasingly smothered by elitist institutions and deprived of civil means to affect policy has few options left to it. Like the protestors in Hong Kong, we are watching our rights get diminished daily in an increasingly draconian police state.
Additionally, they said the quiet part out loud when they mentioned "post Jan 6 crackdown" which has ensnared many more people and sought to oppress even more than just the participants in that event.
