I’ve said this here before, but why not repeat it. I pay for too many dozens of Substacks, and I sometimes think I should cut back—but yours is one of the very last I would let go. It’s just too good. You don’t write too much in my view. I’m an island of one (sorry, Mr. Donne, I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this) so I don’t have anyone else to recruit to the cause, but what you write is so engaging that I read it immediately even when I’ve left other Substackers’ posts unopened for weeks. Take heart and please keep going.
I’m enraged by this Bishop and I’m not even American. 🇦🇺 Her core task-the core task of all Christians -is to PREACH THE GOSPEL , the Good News of Jesus Christ, in word and deed. The Good News is that we are each one beloved by God. Where did that appear in her sanctimonious, snivelling, whining political speech? If she thinks children are afraid -she doesn’t -her ‘sermon’ should have been aimed at allaying that fear! And -if I still have your attention -when are her superiors going call her into head office for a little chat?
For some reason, this made me think of the great gospel song by Washington Phillips, "I Was Born to Preach the Gospel (And I Sure Do Love My Work)," which made me think of a Bishop Budde version: "I Was Born to Protect Transgender Children"

That’s a good description of the 12 yrs of Obama/Biden. Vacuity elevated to full time job.

She's an Episcopalian -- her superiors are with her all the way. It's a broken church.
It must be. And it’s stunning to find that many of my own ( Roman) Catholic Church are uncritically admiring of her in Christian nonsense, too.
