Still thinking about the people in my town who HUMILIATED Trump by covering their home with the image of his face, using the center of their lives to accord him the greatest possible significance and prominence. Remarkable.

When I saw that picture I thought of the loony Griffin woman holding Trump’s head and the recent story about a group playing soccer with a ball painted to look like Trump’s head. There are so many people in need of real mental health help and some of them live in your neighborhood. Yikes.

Expand full comment

This is mas mental illness. Has this condition not been engineered and delivered by media and by real financial distress conditions (also constructed via government policies all over the West) for four years?

I (perhaps unwisely) read the front page of Reddit every morning. The top discussions are often primarily Trump-focused. The cognitive dissonance between how the same stories are presented on Reddit vs how they appear in what I loosely term "reality" makes it hard to focus for a while. I end up taking a walk to clear my head.

I think the divide between these two perceptions of the same existence is fundamentally unbridgeable. I honestly don't know if we can fix this.

Like clockwork, the usual suspects are claiming that during the recent town hall, Trump "FROZE" while also "DANCING AWKWARDLY" or "RANDOMLY BOPPING" to a "BIZARRE" playlist "FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON" other than maybe the "MEDICAL EMERGENCIES" and this "ONCE AND FOR ALL" proves that Trump's "DANGEROUS TRIP TO SENILITY" is now complete.

Edit to add an example from an hour ago, long after anybody who's even a little curious knows what happened:

Donald Trump stood on a stage of a supposed town hall meeting not answering questions and for 39 minutes just listened to music. Wake up! The man is one sick fuck!

Lawrence O'Donnell's contention that the mug shot will define Trump is right in some way, but not in the way he meant. What would TNR, the Atlantic, MSNBC, Mother Jones et al. and all the other regime dingleberries and Social Justice piranhas do if Donnie died in his sleep tonight?

They need him more than anyone else on Earth does, even more so than his own family.

The Trump Show has flooded enormous amounts of cash into DC and NYC media properties, into brownstone Brooklyn, into the mansionvilles of CT where many of our media dinosaurs lay their grizzled heads every night, into the LA TV studios where sad clowns like Kimmel and Colbert serve their cold stale stews.

Whenever the day comes that Donnie leaves the scene (which will probably be at least a few years after his heart stops beating), we will hear the sound of the world's largest toilet being flushed—and down into the sewer with all the other turds will go dozens of websites dedicated to stoking the intolerance of the tolerant as well as all the sad whores of our mediascape who sell their words and souls for pennies.

To use an old movie analogy: the liberal press is Glenn Close and Trump is Michael Douglas. They will go out in a blaze of hatred and be missed by no one.

His retirement from politics - assuming he's not killed - will be the death knell of probably hundreds of careers, possibly thousands in the media and adjacent, leech-like industries ("experts are baffled!").

Deliciously vicious and true. “Cold stale stews” lol. The kids gotta know Colbert is a dry desperate old bird. Maybe the millennials were successfully brainwashed but the ones coming up won’t be. Then all the haters will look around, see no one with them, and pretend nothing like what’s going on now ever happened.

My guess is they would shift to Marjorie Taylor Green. They already seem to be preparing her to be New Trump as they have discovered tone trolls can be easily distracted from reality by a sufficiently boorish and unseemly lout. And there are a lot of tone trolls.

Funny. I just watched that whole interview and, while not a big fan of Trump's style, in general, I thought he made a lot of great points, showed how well he handles things when the pressure is on with world leaders and made a pretty good case for his economic policies. He supported every aspect of US industry, including auto workers but was on the side of manufacturing being done in the States, not Mexico, Europe, China, or elsewhere. The interviewer from the WSJ sounded like a teenage girl whose ex-boyfriend just found someone new. That page of headlines is beyond opinion and by any metric is either lies or mental illness. It really is amazing how media and democrats in general react toward anything Trump. TDS should absolutely be in the next version of DSM-5. I can't imagine Harris in a similar situation dealing with a hostile interviewer for an hour and a half or more. You'd sure get some funny videos and you wouldn't even have to do any tricky editing!
