Many Americans are on the information diet equivalent of all-you-can-eat McDonald's. Their brains are broken beyond repair. If you want to see Mockingbird in action, check out the MSM regurgitations of Trump Derangement Substack like Richardson, Rather, Reich, Beschloss, Ben-Ghiat, Tiedrich, Schmidt, Wilson, The Bulwark, etc.

Chris Bray's avatar

Ruth Ben-Ghiat has been uniquely deranged on Twitter today. Like watching a patient when the Haldol fails.

They'll never tell The Truth because they despise us. People rarely tell the truth to people they think are unworthy of it.

What's doubly insulting (you can substitute the US media climate for any EU-province 1:1) is that there's no need for lying.

Only someone who is supremely arrogant or stupid tries to base anything on a lie. If they were clever, they'd instead figure out how to utilise /all/ info to their advantage. The propaganda-communication-information equivalent to the "Anything is a weapon, anywhere is a target"-philosophy of arts both marital and martial.

Biden stumbles and mumbles? Spin and polish it into it being a sign of how hard he tries, how much he gives.

Trump your enemy? Dig up all his borderline criminal business-dealings, and amp up the "Big Biz Bad Boy Trump" vs "Small local farmers" such as the scottish couple he tried to run off their land so he could build a golf course.

That's how the russians do it - they rarely lie outright in their media (they know the average russian is very gifted in identifying lies on pure instinct) but they do massage every message thoroughly, especially when reporting on other nations they want to discredit. F.e. when Sweden was criticising Russia for being anti-LBT+, RT ran news about how swedish LBT+ groups refused to hold protests and marches outside mosques or in migrant areas.

No lie, just artfulness.

Information is just a tool like any other - it's a damn sight insulting that they - on your end and mine - think they can just lie and lie and lie and lie some more, and then censor and silence us.

Ryan Gardner's avatar

So well said. Great comment.

Rikard's avatar

Thank you.

Maybe it gets my goat extra-muchly because I used to teach how-to when it comes to this stuff.

Though I, and my colleagues, always stressed the moral aspects of how and why we humans utilise information. Just because you can be glib and blather to make Donny Dunce try to bungyjump with a cord made from bicycle-tires, doesn't mean you should, kind of.

Totally agree. We are peasants to do as they say, they regard us as trash

I still interact with shitlibs on a semi-regular basis, and can assure you that they will claim they never said Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation.

Yes, the media is disgusting, but with this many easy marks running around, it would otherwise be a 1980s televangelist or something. A lot of people are just dumb.

And for that we can blame our government propaganda system AKA public schools.

I expect the current crop of politicians - of both parties - to be lying liars. It’s what they do. What I didn’t expect, until the last few years, was the total corruption, immorality, illegality, and evilness of our law enforcement agencies - especially the FBI.

I’m not surprised the FBLie has verified the authenticity of the laptop in this trial. I knew it was authentic from the research I did in 2020. Anyone that doesn’t mainline the MSM lies knew it was real. The real story here, that no one is pursuing, is the FBI had custody of the laptop for 4 years, knew it was real, knew what was on it - including Hunter’s sex with minors, Joe’s bribes from 5 different countries, and evidence of over 500 laws broken - yet never corrected the “Russian disinformation” claim, nor ever prosecuted any of the proven crimes.

All 4 branches of government (including now the intelligence community as the 4th branch) are completely rotted out down to the core. There is no adult supervision with a moral compass anywhere - certainly not in the justice system. We have become East Germany.

Who can really imagine what will happen if that jackal Merchan actually sends Trump to jail?

Overhead At Docksat's avatar

It will be interesting to see how other world leaders react. Trump is on course to win and may even overcome the cheating. A bit like Duterte did in 2016 in the Philippines. His margin of victory was just too big.

But it's how Starm Pot (Sir Kier "Sir Kneelalot" Starmer) in the UK will approach it. Or Macron and others. If they start saying "well we still consider him legitimate" it'll just make the Demons even more mad

nymusicdaily's avatar

the only big house trump is going to is the one he owns. or one of them anyway

sentencing wouldn't happen until sept at the earliest and by then TS will have HTF so highly unlikely a nyc court would be open at that point

Thought of something.

Comparing Brezhnev and Biden, sure, both broke down in their final years as is only natural. But:

Leonid Brezhnev served as Commissar in 1941, since he was a party official, and ended WW2 as a Major-General. He was stationed on the ukrainian front.

It's a bit unfair to Brezhnev who knew what he was doing, was good at logistics and no mere appartchik or politruk, and who had real experience of having his skin in the game, to compare him to Biden who in comparison is nothing but a pampered parlour-pet that should have taken to the vet for a dignified end long ago.

Tanto Minchiata's avatar

Biden has a skill. Well, he had a skill. He knew how to play the political game. Whose ass to kiss. What face and noises to make for the media based on the event of the moment, how to stay away from falling pianos in Washington,DC. Other than that, he’s a giant piece of shit.

Exactly. The USSR's aged leadership showed tremendous grit and determination, having wrestled with the best army in the last 2 centuries. Ours? Not so much. Vipers. 90% of 'em.

I tuned in late to the coverage and watched parts on DVR. I fast-forwarded through Biden’s speech, giving it the finger all the way. (You don’t have to bear witness to 100% of the Devil’s conduct to know it’s all evil.) I listened to the recitation of “The Watch,” followed by the playing of “Taps.” The camera briefly cut away from the bugler to Biden, who unlike his peers was not facing forward at attention, but instead had his back to the veterans, talking with someone off camera.

There is no redeeming aspect to this man whatsoever. I hope that when the Army bugler plays Taps at Biden’s state funeral, the attendees turn their backs on him and check their watches per his example.

Perhaps we could just air drop him over New Guinea, to join his uncle. I’d favor that approach because it would spare me from having to act out Carson City Marshal Walter Thibido’s line in “The Shootist”: “The day they lay you away, what I'll do on your grave won't pass for flowers.”

Cartels have some semblance of honour in comparison with corporate media, and one might say the product cartels deliver are of more value.

Ryan Gardner's avatar

That's right. Plus the worst mobsters are the government.

Now the media, plutocrats and government are robber barons taken to bed together to do each other's bidding at the expense of the sovereignty of We The People.

"Government is a gang, but not merely as meritorious as a private gang because it claims legal legitimacy. It pillages and uses violence but under the cover of law, and seeks legitimacy not through competition but through the myth of the social contract."

- Jeffrey Tucker

They expanded this into the public square and now we're taking it back. They can't deal and are not prepared for how we will exert our will....because like mobsters they never expected the shopkeepers to fight back.

They. Are. Terrified.

And what you're seeing is profound weakness.

I was fascinated by the Biden clips today (kinda of like driving slowly by a bad car accident to see if there any white sheets laid out).

In the first clip where he appears to try and sit in a non existent chair or might be doing something else entirely, Dr. Jill casually puts her hand to her mouth, scratches her top lip and is clearly saying something to him.

Abrupt jump to the next clip where the nurses aide (Dr. Jill again) is escorting her patient, I mean POTUS, away from the event mid ceremony.

Absolutely bizarre and the MSM will pretend like nothing happened.

These people put Baghdad Bob to shame.

JW's avatar

Yes I noticed the exact thing. It was so obvious, scratch your lip so we couldn’t see you say ‘stand up ya dipshit’. The look on her face! Hope she gets everything she deserves in the end.

Randy Farnum's avatar

She’s probably thinking, “I started the week in court with my crack head step son and now I’m walking his dementia ridden father to go get his diaper changed “! I hope the perks and privileges of being FLPOTUS is worth that degradation.

Jeff's avatar

I honestly think she’s the one making decisions and making him run again. Let’s be honest, if she really loved him wouldn’t she want to protect him and let him enjoy what memories he has left instead of trotting him out to make fool of himself?

Randy Farnum's avatar

Agreed. She only loves herself. Just when I think my family is hopelessly dysfunctional the Biden's help me know there's always somebody worse than mine. LOL.

It seems that "profound degradation of the information environment" differs from solitary confinement only in matters of degree. None of us can agree because none of us is viewing the same reality, a "reality" that is manufactured. Each of us is living in a very non-fun, solo funhouse.

Mike Lee should tweet harder and maybe it will make him more based.

Everybody is tired of this crap. Do something or get the fuck out of Congress.

Chris Bray's avatar

Lee has at least proposed that Senate Republicans should refuse to assist in advancing any legislation or nominees for the rest of the session, as a protest against lawfare, but he only has about a dozen colleagues who are willing to join him.

Just An American's avatar

Fair enough. "Proposed" isn't getting things done. The giant borg that is the Uniparty Congress steamrolls right over them. These dudes should be screaming from the rooftops, but instead issue strongly worded letters and "mean tweets." It's weak.

That's the most objectionable (and horrifying) thing about the current environment, the part where they say things that are patently untrue and the unthinking public just consumes it all with zero awareness.

Rikard's avatar

Almost all the media, including the technology itself, in very few hands, only concerned with power and profit and nothing else.

In other words, the perfect amalgam of "F*ck you, I've got mine!" and "It's for your own good, pleb!".

You don't fix that by voting. Not just by voting.
