How can anyone believe this anymore? The money's gone because it was STOLEN. The stupidity of the press trying to run cover for the greatest robbery in US history, is truly funny. Almost as stupid as LBGTQ+ individuals being radicalized to help Somali, Palestinian, Afghans, Haitians et al illegal immigrants when if the LBGTQ+ really understood the bone deep hatred these cultures have for their LBGTQ+ communities, LBGTQ+'s wouldn't be so quick to help people who would hang them the first chance they got.

RU's avatar

Glad someone else sees the whole LBG thing. They have what they have - including their very lives - b/c Western whites (most notably, the men) allowed them to, defended them, included them, supported them, gave them legal status, and even legally protected them. And for that, they mock and shame Western whites, especially men. If we're being brutally honest (my 2026 resolution), pretty much all other cultures would have (and often did and still do) put them to death. A little gratitude would be nice.

LGBTQ+ is not really about helping gays, any more than CRT is about furthering the ends of Persons of Pigment, or sanctuary cities, Immigrants of Undocumentation.

The issue is never the issue: it is always about The Revolution! LGBTQ+ will resolutely support mass migration, even if it means all of its members get thrown off buildings, because it furthers the ends of The Revolution.

Yes yes, but you don't understand. The reason these people have such an unenlightened view of gays is that westerners have colonised their countries, oppressed their people, thwarted their natural wisdom and kindness, and with our cruel and rapacious white western-ness turned these gentle souls against the equally gentle-souled LGBTQ+ community.

I am, of course, joking.

RU's avatar

Sadly, I have heard leftclowns make this argument. Same as they make the argument that white people invented slavery lol.

Michael L's avatar

I haven't noticed many gay or bi mean outside of academia mocking and shaming Western culture : they seem to generally be living their lives with no time for that nonsense.

RU's avatar

But they consistently vote for the people who are.

Thorne Sutherland's avatar

I know a few gay people who don’t.

Michael L's avatar

In a lot of places, they have to be more closeted about their political ideology if it has the slightest taint of nonconformity than about their sexual preferences.

If I may engage in a tangential recollection of my youth, one of the used record and book stores that I'd frequent when I went into San Francisco as preteen and teen was run by a guy named Bruno who had orange hair parted front to back and displayed a blasé wit that made him seem one of the coolest grown ups around to me.

When he died decades later, I found out from his obituary that he was one of the founders of the gay conservative group The Log Cabin Republicans of San Francisco. When I was interacting with him on a semi-regular basis, I was sympathetic to the lingering notion of countercultural revolution of the early 70s, but by the time he died I was considerably more sensible and jaded. Here's to you, Bruno!

Absolutely nuts what they're protecting.

Rampant entitlement fraud, a cheating state/local government and illegals basically running their own (illegitimate) voting block. At a cost measured in $billions.

Things no reasonable American would support.

They don't understand this. In fact, they don't understand anything other than "Trump evil". It's all so tiresome.

Keith's avatar

Either they, or we, have completely misread the situation and I suspect it's them, not merely because I'm me, but because I was once a bit left and I sort of know how dominant trends in society can bamboozle you. Quite what would make these fully-grown adult progressives finally realise they've been had is beyond me. A bucket of icy water in the face? Nope, i don't think anything can turn them around. They are a lost cause.

Maria's avatar

I agree. I just lost a couple of friends, gay, whom I've known for over 25 years because one of them is so triggered by my conservatism as well as my analysis of situations. Over the Pretti incident, he literally shouted at me to be quiet and that I would justify the killing some way and that that was immoral behavior and he said he couldn't be in my company so he went home (mind you I live in Florida and he lives in Indiana). Instead of arguing I said "ok, please go". So, yes, that's my long winded way of agreeing with you, they are a lost cause.

Keith's avatar

I like long-winded answers that are illustrations of a point rather than repetitions. And the bit about your friend going back to Indiana in a huff due to a disagreement made me laugh out loud.

We are always advised not to let politics interfere with friendships but to me the two seem inextricably linked. Politics is, at heart, all about values and when you notice that you friends have diametrically opposed values to you it's hard to simply shrug it off.

So I can understand both your friend's outburst, even if he does have stupid beliefs and perverse values, and I can certainly understand your reaction: 'Okay, bye then.

Ataraxis's avatar

Treat such people like a 5 year old, since like a 5 year old they have no impulse control. “Shush! Use your inside voice!”

The subtext to what your “friend” said: Be mindful of what people say to you in anger. They have wanted to tell you that for a long time.

suannee's avatar

Yikes! Your last sentence gives me pause. I lost friends over the covid hysteria. Some folks whom I tolerated and who tolerated me are still friends, as long as we stay superficial re world events.

The subtext to what your “friend” said: Be mindful of what people say to you in anger. They have wanted to tell you that for a long time.

I’ve got a gay buddy thst can’t stand flamboyant gay dudes. Plus, he’s a trump supporter.

Occam's avatar

100%

I doubt that they really understand what they're in the streets defending.

Namely, rampant entitlement fraud, illegal voting practices and government involvement in destabilizing societies. These are not things that any reasonable person would support.

But then again, when you're operating based on your feelings, you're bound to make some mistakes.

PapayaSF's avatar

There’s a remnant that will never be convinced. 25%? However, there are a lot of people in the middle who will reject Democrats once the indictments start for all the massive fraud.

Dan Jones's avatar

Not holding my breath for "a lot of people in the middle" to "reject Democrats". Even once indictments become numerous and well-documented. 78 people have already been indicted for the Fleecing Our Future...excuse me, Feeding Our Future fraud...and yet there isn't even a trickle let alone a stampede of folks rejecting Democrats.

Brigitte's avatar

I agree—I think it’s a little too hopeful to think they would care even a little bit if it all came out in the open. Probably optimistic to think much of the fraud will be aired out in the first place.

suannee's avatar

dan jones - you're right.

RU's avatar

It's an important point that we don't need them to embrace Republicans or conservatives to swing an election our way. All we need is for that mushy, default liberal contingent ("socially liberal, fiscally conservative" they like to say) to lose enthusiasm for Democrats. I am doubtful that the majority of those people would ever make a permanent or even semi-permanent affiliation switch (if the covid attack didn't do it, fraud isn't going to).

But, they don't need to switch to give Republicans more time to fix the broken electoral systems. And once those are fixed, it will take a major lurch to the middle for Ds to win any nationwide or maybe even statewide elections in the future.

Michael L's avatar

A lot of those who think they're "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" unfortunately can't see that social liberalism that takes the form of funding well-intentioned but useless (or worse) programs fly in the face of fiscal conservatism/responsibility. Then again, I think the notion of budgeting and not spending more than one has in one's personal finances are alien to many of them.

PapayaSF's avatar

Lots of voters just follow the zeitgeist. As MAGA grows and the failures and crimes of Democrats and the left more apparent, more will vote GOP. There’s already a visible trend in voter registrations in most if not all states. The Democratic Party is falling out of fashion.

Thorne Sutherland's avatar

By the time they realize it, it will be too late. Especially if the people they are supporting (Muslim, Somali, etc) succeed in establishing sharia law and they become imprisoned or, more than likely, executed for their lifestyle.

What bothers me most is that you have enough people who "feel Bad about the meanness" it might actually work. In a sane world this wouldn't go far.

There was a reason our founding fathers limited the franchise to property owning men (most women who married with an inheritance at the time passed the property to husbands), was because property owners generally possessed the knowledge and character to cut through crap and vote responsibly.

Throgmorton's avatar

And unhinged people soon lost all their property through neglect and mismanagement, weeding them out of the electorate.

Sadly, No, the rational, for example, did not vote for Mandami, but he was elected. And by people who only had a vote, often not even citizenship. The rational are paying the largest price. The DEI "winners", claim victim hood from jobs they don't deserve.

You do hit upon one tiny thread of silver in the dark cloud of watching your civilization tumble into the abyss due to the willful ignorance of these groups of assholes: the fact that you will likely get to see the shocked faces of these LGBTQ+ folks, as they screech "BUT I AM YOUR ALLY!" right before they're tossed off of rooftops, or the shocked faces of the white Liberal "college-educated" wine women, as they screech "BUT I AM..." and are then slapped in the face and told if they speak again without being ordered to they will be stoned to death, and then forced into the burqa. At least we have these tiny rays of sunshine to look forward to, before all goes dark. May these things sustain us.

Peter Pan and his Lost Boys could not destroy the public commonwealth as fully and quickly as Zohran Mamdani, Karen Bass, Jacob Frey, Governor Sparkle Beach Ken and what’s his name Chicago mayor - and their felllow blue state politicos like new VA Gov. Abigail Spanburger have done and continue to do. When will this nightmare end? After Trump, Trump, Trump is driven from Never-Never Land?

NanaW's avatar

If President Trump disappeared tomorrow, they would double down with great ferver to make all who voted for him or supported him pay for their crimes.

Big Brother must have his Emmanuel Goldstein. And we have always been at war with Eurasia.

Kathy Christian's avatar

That is what they're planning in three years. That's why so many republicans are jumping ship now and voting with democrats. They don't want to end up on the docket.

They are brazenly admitting it in interviews.

Democrat voters either have horrible memories, are evil, or they are just plain stupid. Not sure which at this point. They vote for the mess, get the mess, then are confused by how it all happened. Commies Mandami is another symptom of this problem. New Yorkers conveniently forget 9/11 and elect this rich islamist imbecile to further destroy their city. Good luck to them. This mess will be worse than 9/11 I'm afraid.

Gym+Fritz's avatar

Poor memories, evil, stupid?

No reason to have to choose . . . all of the above, plus maybe: easily fooled, naivety, self medicated, and wishful/magical thinking.

And, of course, none of these considerations are applicable to graveyard residents or digitally-created voters.

RU's avatar

also, brainwashing and simplistic tribalism. they really do not seem to be able to process anything without using the approved frameworks they've been told are the only ones that matter: Trump, race, "identity," and so on. It's crippling them and they can't even see their own mental handicap.

And then they move away from the mess and start forcibly destroying the new place along the exact same lines. We need to run them out of town on a rail, after tarring and feathering, to break the cycle.

So the Socialist mayor who promised to give everybody free everything is now going to raise taxes to pay for it? Huh, who could’ve seen that coming…?

ZuZu’s Petals's avatar

Every new administration or parliament (in our case) seems to inherit a surprising “black hole” caused by overspending by the previous gang of miscreants. In Britain the new Labour Chancellor “found” a £22 billion “black hole” left by the Conservatives, which she used as an excuse to increase taxes. This script has become tedious.

Funny how they switched the colors of R and D on the election night maps in '98 or 2000., probably to dissociate D from communism. We didn't know that it was ironic foreshadowing. The D would soon break into a sprint for globalist blue bloods, rootless capital, and all that.

hoppah's avatar

First, you try Communism. Then when the whole country, due to a fine education system, recoils in horror, you back off and spend 80 years destroying the education system, starting with the universities and finally, you're in the day cares. Then you try again and voila! Everyone believes in free everything and that cause and effect is nothing more than rayciss. Mission accomplished.
