The first four seasons were perfection. Go back and watch the episode with John Cleese as the couples counsellor for Sam and Diane, it's bloody brilliant.
Everything they say is the opposite of the truth. The clutching of pearls and knickers in a twist is because it's about to get real. And our side needs to never give in. You can feed a poisonous snake and it's still going to bite you the first chance it gets. The globalist whores are literally devils. IGNORE THEM is exactly right. They don't deserve the time of day. Grown ups are about to take over.
I am concerned about a lot of Trump's picks. He had bad advice last time and it looks like it's happening again. I am so disappointed they caved on Gaetz. We need a fearless Pitbull. I wish they went to the mat and didn't just give up. Here's the whole story. 2 yrs investigated by Biden DOJ and they never charged him with anything. https://x.com/threadreaderapp/status/1860014604669026371
I've said it before, but they're the idiots who cheated in high-school and wrote the person's name they were cheating from on the line where their name was supposed to go.
Now they're all in the same classroom without anyone to cheat off of.
You call them midwits. I call them spiteful mutants. They need to be expunged from the gene pool. Thankfully, most of them are doing that to themselves.
So good, and then you hit me with “. It would take him a few minutes to figure out how to eat a donut.”and I fell on the floor.
Not only is our side winning for a change, we’re doing it in style and having fun. I got such a kick out of Rogan changing his X description to “Believes in dragons”
To my amazement, I watched the whole Haaland clip.
Now I need a drink. Or several drinks.
Did you realize we pay this person $246,400 per annum to very inarticulately fail to answer ANY of the several perfectly reasonable questions posed by the Congresswoman.
I can't wait for Himself and his crew of house cleaners to take office.
My latest theory is that many, if not most, truly competent people are, relatively speaking, sane. And therefore unwilling to swim in the fetid cesspools of corruption that so many of our Western governments have become.
Chris, clearly you have the “wrong” values. You are assuming that merit is an important factor in people being able to accomplish things. This is obviously very silly. It is people’s immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to govern us all! Also, as the most important nation on earth, it is vital that we constantly push boundaries to have “the first“ five-foot three and three-quarters, mixed Iranian/Fijian/Zimbabwean to serve as the head of __________.
Remember, SCOTUS was made SO much better because Sonia Sotomayer is “a wise Latina woman” and because the esteemed “not a biologist“ Ketanji Brown Jackson were appointed to the court. Now, with their unique qualifications, we are on the road to “true justice“! As for Ms Haaland, obviously her “indigenous ways of knowing” has made all our environmental decisions so much richer, and more meaningful.
Perhaps "immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to govern us all", might more accurately be phrased, "immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to rule over us all".
I mentioned the luggage thief the last time I talked about the fake controversy, so I didn't want to go back to the same well of pathetic examples. I thought about throwing in the luggage thief's puppy training, but....
Thing is, there are hundreds of thousands of these idiots all through government, at all levels, in particular, at the federal level. DOGE can't start soon enough to cull out these morons from every agency and department. It's these kind of idiots who think we can get into a nuclear exchange and "win".
If DOGE is to be effective, it must end PROGRAMS and leave the weeding of excess/incompetent personnel to the individual agencies. DOGE needs to be entirely strategic and leave the details to others. Think B-52s vs the ground troops. Both are vital, but have different roles.
so much of the economy depends on a constant keynsian pipeline, we can't just pull a nordstream on these agencies. makes more sense to do it cuban style, pull a rock out here, a rock there and hope the whole wall doesn't collapse.
I respectfully disagree 100%. The hundreds of thousands of workers doing useless or even harmful work are being paid – by taxes, or by printed money that drives inflation, both of which are taxes on people whose full employment has been suppressed for decades by the work product of these very Federal workers. The sooner these workers, and especially their “work product,” are expunged from the government, the sooner America’s economy & its people begin to heal. I know this will take quite some time to do well, but 12:01pm on Jan 20, 2025 would be a great aspirational goal to set the tone.
agree that this should be at the top of the agenda. just saying we should approach this judiciously so as not to tank the economy. like weaning a druggie off dope
I agree with you on the first part, but having worked for federal and county, incompetence does indeed rise. They will keep their buddies and get rid of the real workers.
Yep. The competent people are always the first to go. The suck ups and buddies ALWAYS get to stay, in the same job or get promoted to something WAY above their competency level. Butt buddies uber alles (sp?)!
🎯 The #1 objective of every government manager everywhere is to not be criticized. Good workers & managers recognize recognize that in the drive to maximize success “eggs” occasionally get broken, which you seek to minimize but accept as inevitable. As organization with zero mistakes is minimizing its output, and attracts the least competent people. My neighbor works for the county highway dept, and the incompetence is beyond belief (well, actually no it’s not, sadly).
Being in East Tennessee, they loaded up 2 heavy trash trucks (think long dump truck with grapple boom) to transport bottled water to a neighboring county devastated by Helene. (Of course, the motivation was the presentation was to be covered by regional TV press.) While there, local officials asked our guys to help pull flood debris from under a local bridge, with the grapple booms perfect for the job. They explained that there would be various official workers observing (LEOs and a rep from the Medical Examiners office – it had been a flood after all). Our lead guy got so nervous, he declared the operation “too dangerous” and left with both trucks. I’m just sooo proud of my county government…
Respectfully, perhaps you misunderstand how the government is funded on a “mechanical” basis.
When Congress passes an agency budget, they do NOT award a huge blob of money to the Secretary to divvy up as s/he sees fit. The vast bulk of the budget is legally divvied up by Congress by “program.” When Congress decides to fund an activity, it creates a “program” to do so, and assigns that program to an existing Department or Agency for administration. The funds are attached exclusively to the PROGRAM.
Accordingly, if & when Congress acts on a DOGE recommendation to defund a program, the host Department is left with a group of employees with no funding source. It may well transfer some of those people to fill open slots elsewhere in the Department, but the vast bulk of those people are going bye-bye. They may individually seek out transfers to other Departments, but as these programmatic cuts continue, those slots will be filled and not recur, and the incumbents will be leaving the government.
This may seem overly personal, but after my sister was killed by a random insurgent missile in Iraq (civilian working for the Army; equivalent to a lieutenant colonel), I wrote so many letters to so many commanders supporting the mission, that the Army decided to give me a cash recognition for my morale efforts ($9K). When my O-6 Casualty Assistance Officer told me about it, he explained that the funding source was far more important than the amount. The Army had “re-programmed” the funds, which takes an Act of God. It requires signatures up through the Secretary, then to OMB at the White House, and then to the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees for objection. They went to considerable effort for a sad but defiant brother of a heroine casualty, one who, having been a contracting officer for the government, would have appreciated their effort beyond words, had she been able to see it.
The point is that $9K is an infinitesimal detail in the Defense budget, but illustrates the process. There is no funding source to accommodate the many billions of payroll to be targeted by DOGE.
Those Haaland clips are brutal - her fear is palpable. Like it's high school and dad just asked in his angry dad voice, "Are you stoned?", and she can't quite keep it together because the walls are dancing and melting. We've all been there, darlin'.
She's from New Mexico. I went to the NM state legislature the last session to oppose a "cloud seeding" bill. It was my first time. That "congresswoman" address every time is a feature of questions put to whoever is in charge. If you want to see incompetence, go to a New Mexico legislative session. It's full of Deb Haalands. NM is 50th in education, 10th in drug deaths. So proud and happy to pay taxes here.
If the Secretary of the Interior, who in charge of National Parks, Bureau of Land Management, and the EPA, can't tell you about what's going on in her area, then she needs to go back to the bakery.
You could pick any Park Ranger, or Land Management specialist that can tell you more about what they are doing.
If this is the best the deep state can do, no wonder they are moronic in nature.
Interior has the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, which has lots to do with oil and gas and minerals and NEPA, which should be under the EPA, but isn't.
The Feds are a train wreck of crazy organizations.
To be somewhat fair Trump’s previous pick for the job Ryan Zinke wasn’t much better (he quit before he got canned for ethics violations). He managed to fail upward and is now in Congress so there’s that. Maybe we are looking at a future Senator.
It takes a special kind of experience to achieve the results that the US government has achieved, such as the expertly executed military withdrawal from Afghanistan. Not every country has a health bureaucracy that support policies that result in obesity, drug dependency, and shorter life spans. How about an education bureaucracy that presides over schools that can’t teach students to read or write, but is great at tearing families apart and making students hate their country? It’s not easy to find people who have the proven ability to f__k things up.
Has he actually ever shown ip to the office yet or is he still on extended family leave for shitting out that trafficked child he and his gay lover "birthed"?
Just because one of our own plays a starring role here, I can't stop yapping about New Mexico. We are one of the 2 blue interior states. The Sierra Club is a guiding light regarding environmental policies and people around Santa Fe are still wearing masks. School closings - meh, what does it matter to the state that's 50th in education. NM is sort of a microcosm for what happens when DEI is used to appoint "leaders".
The only good thing about new Mexico is that it's wonderful to visit there if you're an insomniac like me. Otherwise, between the homeless, leftist retarded intellectuals, and the drunken xan-barred indians. I'm surprised there aren't more mass shootings there.
It remains to be seen whether Trump’s army of performance driven leaders will bounce off the Deep State defenders. Republicans in Congress hold the key – will they support the next Administration budget that deletes/defunds innumerable projects. (My sister worked for Dept of Ag & explained that funding is tied by Congress to “programs” and not “departments.”)
Trump could just defy the Congress and impound the funds, and then spend 1+ years litigating the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.
Remember, EVERY Federal dollar has AT LEAST 3+ ARDENT defenders in the House/Senate.
Personally, I'll be amazed if the budget even freezes spending let alone actually cutting it. After all, none of them got re-elected to do anything other than what they've been doing the whole time.
Wow Chris! Thanks for loading me up with ammunition to combat the inevitable conversations that are bound to pop up this Thanksgiving. Before your post I was already arming myself for the conversations that are bound to pop up with my liberal relatives (that my wife invited). Don't get me wrong, because on any given day, I do get along with them...except when the topic of Bad Orange Man pops up. I'm anticipating the conversation that starts with, "what about those Trump appointments being nixed by the senate?" Short of "FU", it's good to be prepared to defend against stories of the left's fake accusations accompanied by the "what about ____" defense*
* "What aboutism" is the Left's defense when their standards get applied to one of their own and they have no response to the double standard that they apply.
One more thing: Happy Thanksgiving to all that are fans of Chris's blog here on Substack! Be thankful for your family and all your blessings. Our faith is turning the situation that Obama's term had inflicted on us....not to mention what Obama's third term, Joe Biden, has doubled down on. FJB and MAGA!!!!
Thanks for saying what a lot of us have been thinking. By the way, were you impressed by the high level of competence and ability, the amazing achievements that made Ms. Kamala so qualified to be the country's chief executive?
They might as well be wearing milkbone underwear.
Nobody holds onto a dead position like a midwit who's spent their whole lives trying to APPEAR smart.
They're pretenders, and that's why the delusion of their fictitious reality is shattering right before their very eyes.
Expect the cacophony of tantrums to dial up to 11.
IGNORE THEM.
I intend to market milkbone underwear in government offices
Lolol. I'd be afraid to have a beer with you. I'd be spitting up through my nose!
spew alert of this one, "you leaf". I like how he shakes his head when the hair is on. OMG this ahole so deserves this.

That was the LOL I did not know I needed!
No, you leaf, no you leaf, no you OOOHHHH leave.
Get in there quickly. You only have a couple of months before the grown-ups take over, and the milkbone underwear market shrinks.
Well then it will be run by Republicans. He can then just change the name to milquetoast.
Spew alert...

"you leaf" he so deserves it
I laughed out loud
How’s it going Norm?
It’s a dog eat dog world Sammy, and I’m wearing milk bone underpants.
Exactly. That's where it's from. Thx for jogging the memory!
Cheers was the best. So many classic lines.
I know. There will never be another like it.
I'm waiting another year before my boys old enough to watch it all over again with me.
The first four seasons were perfection. Go back and watch the episode with John Cleese as the couples counsellor for Sam and Diane, it's bloody brilliant.
Oh man, your making me want to watch it over the holidays!

Now they're all in the same classroom without anyone to cheat off of.
Just a cluster of dimwits.
Reminds me of AI that tries to learn from AI but instead just produces puddles of nothing.
Perzactly!
That is so good -- it was worth saying again. 😂
🤣
Amen.
I was a staff secretary for almost 25 yrs at UNL. Some of the stuff that went on. 💫💥🤡
expect they will all take the 5th when we reach the nuremberg stage
Do you think they know what the 5th is, or do you think you mean for them to drink one?
pretty sure that kamala will stick a bunch of airplane bottles down her fishnets
maybe elsewhere
😂
You can *never* go wrong with Norm Peterson references.
Our government is FILLED with these midwits, you’re exactly right.
You call them midwits. I call them spiteful mutants. They need to be expunged from the gene pool. Thankfully, most of them are doing that to themselves.
Spot on!

Can you imagine the caliber of staff such superlative leadership attracts? It beggars the imagination
…
True. But it looks like we're entering the fuck-around-and-find-out part of WW3
Yup - I wouldn’t trust them to make a decent donut.
As they say, A's hire As, but B's hire C's. Some of these are D's hiring F's. Pity the lifer that is trying to do their job under these idiots.
Never... they get paid well enough to endure it. I would have gone postal for sport long ago.
Honestly, they make most of Trudeau's cabinet look like the Oracles of Delphi. It's a pretty low bar across most western governments right now.
My latest theory is that many, if not most, truly competent people are, relatively speaking, sane. And therefore unwilling to swim in the fetid cesspools of corruption that so many of our Western governments have become.
Sanity and competence go together because they’re both tied to interfacing with reality.
OTOH, when your “success” depends on finding ever more improbable examples of “oppression,” reality quickly disappears in the rear view.
Sane, yes, with some moral centre.
I know. I couldn’t look away from the disaster.
New Mexico was so proud to have a Native New Mexican rise to that position. DEI.
That much? What the hay? If I had that amount I would jump for joy!
Chris, clearly you have the “wrong” values. You are assuming that merit is an important factor in people being able to accomplish things. This is obviously very silly. It is people’s immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to govern us all! May I respectfully offer a minor edit, OR.
Perhaps "immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to govern us all", might more accurately be phrased, "immutable characteristics, like race, gender, and sexual orientation that make them uniquely qualified to rule over us all".
Very imperial. Canada still has a king, after all…😉
Shhh! Don't tell them.
Like!
Your sarcasm was evident from “wrong” being in quotes. 👍 🎯
Kudos to you for not even bringing up the luggage-stealing crossdresser or the OTHER crossdresser or the incompetent press secretary, or the.........

Those are way too easy.
Nope. Way too typical.
Showing such restraint - no words about Buttigieg either.

If DOGE is to be effective, it must end PROGRAMS and leave the weeding of excess/incompetent personnel to the individual agencies. DOGE needs to be entirely strategic and leave the details to others. Think B-52s vs the ground troops. Both are vital, but have different roles.
This is probably an extremely wise approach.
so much of the economy depends on a constant keynsian pipeline, we can't just pull a nordstream on these agencies. makes more sense to do it cuban style, pull a rock out here, a rock there and hope the whole wall doesn't collapse.
That pipeline needs to die. Maybe it needs to die gradually to avoid a single massive shock, but....
that pipeline needs a new best friend called a bulldozer

HUD is the one agency that really needs to go, according to catherine austin fitts that's where most of the theft and the money laundering originates
DOGE???? 😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣Lmfao!!!!
Oh boy! Another government grift!
“grift”
How exactly? You think Musk & Ramaswamy are working for salary, maybe on a time clock?
No salary for anybody in the DOGE from the .gov, they're disbanding on July 4th 2025.

And her staff keeps handing her papers with talking points.

By statute, the EPA is an independent agency reporting to POTUS. DOI is not involved.

You keep me laughing with nearly every line. And you are right, they suck, tell them to shut up.
Like!
Thanks for saying what a lot of us have been thinking. By the way, were you impressed by the high level of competence and ability, the amazing achievements that made Ms. Kamala so qualified to be the country's chief executive?
I was indeed impressed by Kamala Harris, details unimportant.
The fact that Kamala is the democrat's best shot at 2028 means she's JD Vance's best shot at becoming president.
Yeah, I thought so. Yet the people who were telling us how capable she is are the same ones complaining about Mr. Trump's picks.
I wish someone had hired John McEnroe to follow Kamala (not to mention Deb Haaland) around, just to say, "Answer my question!!!"
