The least shocking most disgusting I saw today was about Tim Walz and Keith Ellison pardoning an illegal immigrant who they believe is now remorseful enough for his sexual assault against a 10 year. Yes, the victim said let him go because she had moved on. That's not up to her or shouldn't be. First, her parents didn't want her to tell on the man in the first place from what I can tell. Second, she is no longer a 10 year old in need of protection from that man. He was about to be deported or deported as soon as possible. I don't know the answer. I really don't but I am very close to just saying, let's have it. The Democrats in this country have embraced Hell on earth and I'll be damned if they sentence me with them.

I said in another article’s comment section that it seems like utopian language about equity and so on is a cover for an evil game in which rich government people get their jollies by watching poor people dodge criminals.

LA must be the world headquarters of this.

Dystopia “fiction” didn’t spring up from nothing. It’s an old thing. Think of all the fairy tales of monsters targeting children.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

BINGO! Adults grooming and coercing children is nothing new! These types think of Women and children as "less than" and SOCIETY promotes these ideas in Media daily!

Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Milan continually promote child sex trafficking, in hopes of mainstreaming their perverse and corrupt version of UTOPIA. American Academic Institutions (primarily Government) slowly push the perverse narratives, rebranding them as "inclusive"!

I noticed this in the 2010's when short shorts and spaghetti strap tank tops where the allowed in Middle and High Schools, though AGAINST the stated dress codes!

So, they were fine with allowing the girls to parade around in next to nothing, as seen in popular Media. I of course was the "mean, old fashioned mother" who monitored how her children left the house. I also told my daughter, what my mum told me decades earlier, "Someday, you will thank me for stopping you from visually prostituting yourself." I was eventually thanked.

Linda Whitney's avatar

Good one, Lisa! And very important. Somewhere along the way in the post war years, people stopped teaching their girls self respect.

My own grandmother used to say “If it ain’t for sale, don’t advertise it.”

Then suddenly everything was for sale and even whores are now called ‘sex workers.’ But do they file tax returns?

Several years ago I actually heard a friend complaining because a teacher had told her eleven year old daughter that she was dressed too scantily for school. My friend was offended and said this teacher was ‘sexualizing’ her child! If the kid was dressed as though she wanted to be ready for a kiddy-porn photo shoot, who’s sexualizing who here?

And that is how far off the rails we’ve gone.

nymusicdaily's avatar

in the 1990s in brooklyn you would see preschoolers dressed in scandalous outfits mimicking mtv videos. we called them "madonna wannabes." what parent in his or her right mind would clothe their daughters like that?

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

I discovered a similar mentality in the 2000's when I was collecting signatures (at the elementary school) against a California initiative to allow the School Staff to take our Daughters' out of school to get an abortion without notifying the Parents! Most of the women I approached had not heard about the initiative and where grateful for the heads-up and signed the petition, some politely declined and one in particular was completely appalled that I would even approach her with the petition.

I politely expressed that it is not about being for or against Abortion, it is a Parental rights issue. If she is OK with abortion then why would she want her daughter to go through the procedure alone. Wouldn't you as her mother be a better judge of what is best for your child?

She reminded me of the Liberal Propaganda, stating that some girls don't have loving homes or the baby might be a product of incest. This is always the line of the LEFT and Mainstream Democrats' of which I once was. The trick is to play on the compassion and emotions of Women to further the dissolution of the family and give more power to the Nanny State.

A parent who wanted attention, I’m guessing. The same dimwits who want ‘trans’ kids as trophies in the culture wars today.

I started noticing it in the late 1990’s. Young girls are all too easy targets for manipulation.

I pray for my grandchildren a lot.

Brandy's avatar

Yes! Wow. That is a perfect analogy that's entirely too close to the truth.

ScottyG's avatar

The Dems are so close to embracing pedophilia, they’re almost salivating with anticipation: 🤬

Linda Whitney's avatar

Yes, Scotty.

This is why they continue to promote the transing of kids. They want to pass laws giving children ‘autonomy’ over their bodies down to infancy and it’s only a short step from there to saying a sex act imposed on a child was consensual.

I used to believe the Dems were the people in the white hats. Now I don’t think that was ever true.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

You are correct! We who value children and wish to keep them innocent as long as possible are called old-fashioned, prudish, bigoted, Bible thumpers, ignorant, and my personal favorite, " judgmental ".

When called judgmental, over the years, for having a more traditional approach to life, parenting and teaching, my response became.... YES, I am judgmental in nearly everything I do. Life is a series of choices and judgments, therefore, I cannot back out of my driveway without judging whether or not the street is clear, the vehicle is straight and there are no animals or pedestrians in my path.

The freedom to chose comes with responsibility. Responsible people learn to consider others and weigh potential problems prior to making judgments. The term "judgmental" was the preferred putdown of the LEFT and really, the Mainstream Democrats until they adopted Obama's theory of Systemic Racism!

The slippery slope revealed in patterns!

Mitch's avatar

judgmental really just means discerning.

Brandy, forgive me for jumping in up top, but Daily Caller (yeah, I know, but...) has a piece on the situation today that meshes with your observations. Including insights into the procedural machinations:

> Minnesota officials pardoned a criminal illegal immigrant convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child last month, removing the necessary qualifying convictions to deport him from the country.

The framing of that sentence is either unthinkingly imprecise or deliberately dishonest--"repeatedly sexually assaulting a child last month" leaves a path open for the reader to conclude this happened last month. Which, if it had, would not have come to conviction so quickly...but most readers will be so caught up in the stunned horror of reading that sentence that they won't stop to think.

The pattern of egregious assaults (including, according to ICE, "strongarm sodomy") happened 22 to 24 years ago. Yep, over two years; with the perp justifying his actions to police by saying that child rape "is a cultural thing." This man was convicted in 2006 after being processed according to whatever processes were in place at the time and since. Hold that thought.

Next point from the Caller, underscoring your closing point:

> Vang entered California from Laos in 1994 and received legal status under former President Bill Clinton. This status was revoked upon his conviction and removal order, according to DHS. Until last year, Laos had largely refused to accept deportations from the United States, resulting in a number of Laotian nationals being able to forestall final orders of removal.

Ponder that orb: "Laos had largely refused to accept deportations from the US."

Dunno about you, ma'am, but when I read this...

https://www.trade.gov/country-commercial-guides/laos-market-overview

...I see plenty of dealmaking room for ensuring Laos will take back its criminal degenerates, yo?

So this convicted serial child rapist been living in Minnesota illegally for TWENTY YEARS. With the full knowledge and complicity of those in power in the state.

Thus I don't sense that feelings of remorse have any play in all this. This is sheer bald procedural power being deployed by the Dems, who are willing to reach deep into their septic slime chasm for strategies and tactics that decent people recoil at. In this case, even undoing prior legal/judicial proceedings...and the grotesque patterns of behavior leading to those. That, along with the party being absolutely captive to global interests over US/local ones.

But this is part of the Dem formula since the '90s IME. Their implicit bargain with their supporters is that no matter what the negative outcomes of their policies, no matter how egregiously awful their perspectives and actions, the important thing is to hold firm with particular religious beliefs that the party dispenses as deftly as any priesthood.

In this case, that immigrants are holy, that illegal immigrants are victims, and that the magic soil of the US transubstantiates casual and even criminal visitors or wanderers into permanent citizens with all the rights and privileges that implies. But only for the newcomers. (Founding stock citizens or those with ancestry from 1617 to 1917 are COLONIZERS.)

Now think of how hard Walz's team worked to dig out this case to set this precedent, probably as midterm election PR fodder. Think of the tens, even hundreds, of thousands of potential cases this case tees up for the same. Think of the people behind the scenes who did this teeing up. Think of their power.

Which I'm sure you already realize/know. But I wanted to hook your excellent points to the Caller piece. Thanks.

I can't fail to notice that the men depicted have some things in common.

In fact, from experience, I can't help noticing that people engaging in these kinds of things almost exclusively have the same things in common, on any continent.

And although I'm not old-old, it's getting within sight and so I can't help noticing from experience that when men with these same things in common didn't live in such numbers in Western nations - or didn't live in Western nations period - these kinds of crime-rings et c were virtually non-existant compared to today. Nor did anyone pity those Western men that were involved in criminal enterprises.

You just can't help noticing, can you?

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

BINGO! Patterns of omission are always a tell. Especially to a woman!

Korpijarvi's avatar

Rik, the overlapping elements in my own experience form a Noticeworthy Pattern as well.

--motels in "marginal" neighborhoods (i.e., largely renters, ownership not local, no obvious coherent economic base, nondescript public aesthetic)

--with vehicles coming and going in greater number than you'd expect from overnight guests

--the motels owned by clan-organized people who got special state/federal/local/Chamber of Commerce programs/loans/business services based on nonwhite racial preference

--the "marginal" neighborhoods becoming magnets for other criminal activity, as indicated by things like the number of police and EMT calls per weekend night

--the eventual movement onto the streets of this "marginal" activity, resulting in all sorts of spectacles

Seattle's Aurora neighborhood is isomeric with what Chris describes. I've seen this elsewhere in WA state, including the Aberdeen/Hoquiam area (especially downbeating of white working class kids like that Cobain guy), the general area of Sea-Tac and environs (Kent, etc.), and north of the city (Everett). Some of these lower key. But always with those Common Elements.

> Nor did anyone pity those Western men that were involved in criminal enterprises.

Seattle was founded on this. It was Progressive Republican women getting the vote that turned it around in 1911.

On the topic of police corruption, in the panicked run-up to 2016, six months after DJT announced his POTUS run, Seattle's progs remembered all this and deftly recast it as a way to push back against the surprisingly popular Trumpian support. I.e., there was absolutely nothing to worry about on the vice front in the Emerald City. Just those horrible jackbooted fascists.

John Geis's avatar

You’re not wrong, but corruption is endemic to the human condition. Look at Tammany Hall in NYC since 1786, and Chicago’s persistent corruption since its incorporation in 1833. The initiators of these organizations were white, with minorities joining in along the way. It’s the South American drug gangs who introduced the doctrine of “Plata o plomo” (Silver or lead).

Fukitol's avatar

Well to be fair why would a bunch of ghettoites and ghettologists be snitching, and who else would ever pay attention to these retarded perverts?

The thing is, social media is a sideshow. Whatever police could do before it existed, they can do now, and the internet provides little utility to criminal enterprise. Real crimes take place in real life and leave behind hard evidence in the form of victims, witnesses and paper trails. Unlike the fake bullshit crimes corrupt pols want you to focus on like "online hate."

I guarantee you the police were well aware of the activities taking place here. They will have heard about it every single day in complaints, gossip from informants and arrestees, and first hand experience. So the question is what policy or corruption (but I repeat myself) made it take so long to do something about it?

Ataraxis's avatar

Because the police on the street can’t do anything that their bosses, the political appointees, won’t approve.

Bottom line, everyone wants to keep their jobs.

This is why places like the "Learing Center" in Minneapolis were never raided by the Cops on that beat! Believe me, Police drive past schools and Daycare facilities daily, so they knew that there were no children nor parents coming and going from that location! Many of them don't, though. I failed to bookmark an excellent piece this week on SS, about the Oakland cupcake baker Jen Angel, and how she was brutalized to death by one of the Usual Suspects in her area...and how everyone rallied around her violent/horrid demise by siding with the murderer.

The blinders are their way of coping. "To take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing, end them" has uncertain outcomes. Pretending everything is hunky-dory supplies the guaranteed dopamine hit of virtue and superiority. IMO it's the reaction of deeply traumatized people...but that's a topic for another time.

Trauma based mind control works.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

Wow! I try to ignore Oakland. Our Son will no longer take jobs in Oakland, CA. He noticed a couple of cars repeatedly circling the block and slowing to watch him. He became concerned and packed up to leave A.S.A.P. As he was driving away from the job site, the same two vehicles followed toward the freeway for several blocks! At a light, just prior to the freeway entrance, two black men got out of a vehicle on either side of his van and were attempting to gain access, when a police cruiser appeared at the intersection. Had that cop not appeared, our son could have lost tens of thousands of dollars in equipment or possibly his life.

"Feeding cupcakes to killers."

Oakland has been like this for a long time. It wasn't like neighbors didn't want things to change/improve. They were/are simply blocked in their efforts to do so. For a more recent example, do you remember the founding of NextDoor, which was pimped as a way for neighbors to keep up with one another online?

In the 20-'teens Oakland neighbors used the platform to share local intelligence on suspicious or criminal activities and individuals, directly observed...and were blatantly, systematically shut down with accusations of "racism."

It was pretty clear to me based on its founders that the "service" was created not to help neighbors to communicate, but to harvest close/local data and use that in political compaigning.

Which came out a couple years later with the infliction of London Breed as mayor.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/13/technology/nextdoor-elections-politics-nyt.html

Don't miss the last few paragraphs there.

IIRC the founding angels of NextDoor wer the founder of Zillow, Rich Barton, and the founder of Weblog, Jason Calicanis. The latter moved on to Sequoia Capital.

The Jen Angels of the world possibly intuit what we're all up against, and choose to side with the downstream symptoms of the larger upstream malevolence. You know what the penalties are for Noticing. And I'm sure you know how BART long ago decided not to publish photos of extreme malefactors on its various transit lines, because to do so would make people racist.

I looked up the Hoovers Gang. They get their name from a street running between Vermont and Fiqueroa. They are a branch of the Crips and have been in operation since the Watts riots in 1965. Sex trafficking isn’t their only activity. Drug distribution, armed robbery and murder-for-hire are other services they offer. Oh, and apparently franchising is available, as they have branches in Oklahoma City, St. Louis and Seattle.

After seeing the social media pictures of these criminal masterminds, it begs the question - how has this organization stayed in existence for 61 years? A cynic might conclude this gang is receiving protection from very powerful people because they are providing useful services to them.

I have been doing a lot of research into measured IQ of various populations, and technical issues notwithstanding, there seem to be significant differences in averages between population groups around the world and in our country.

I’ve also long been concerned/convinced that especially the multi generational welfare moms raise especially low-IQ kids by: having poor maternal pre-conception nutrition (same as the “ fathers“, whoever they may be), poor nutrition, and drug abuse during pregnancy, not nursing, feeding babies formula by propping the bottle and walking away, not interacting with their infants, the children themselves living in an unsafe environment, and the mother being included in the group of unsafe people around them by treating them harshly both verbally and through physical punishment, contempt for school and education, being exposed to negative role models and ideologies through childhood, and very little to nonexisting intellectual stimulation. Repeat this pattern across a few generations and you’re probably looking, easily, at idiot level to low normal.

I think this definitely is one of the significant factors in the lifestyles and activities we’re seeing today.

John Geis's avatar

All true, but there’s more: the express repudiation of hard work, deep thinking and delayed gratification, all called “acting white.” Plus poverty pimps like Jackson & Sharpton. Add in the Democratic “plantation” in place since 1932.

Excerpt from Malcolm X speech – Dec 4, 1963 in NYC:

“The white liberal differs from the white conservative only in one way: the liberal is more deceitful than the conservative. The liberal is more hypocritical than the conservative. Both want power, but the white liberal is the one who has perfected the art of posing as the Negro's friend and benefactor; and by winning the friendship, allegiance, and support of the Negro, the white liberal is able to use the Negro as a pawn or tool in this political ‘football game’ that is constantly raging between the white liberals and white conservatives.”

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

BINGO! Because Malcom X was a hammer and only pounded nails, I will add 'Women' as pawns of the Democrat Party! For they are the Party that promised happiness, freedom of CHOICE and upward mobility to Women, just so long as you don't chose to be a stay-at-home Mother! You must surrender your child to Daycare to properly fulfill yourself!

Korpijarvi's avatar

> Plus poverty pimps like Jackson

Pleb/MSM take.

Jackson's Rainbow Coalition was a genuine grassroots-populist threat to the mainstream Democrat party in 1984. He stood a solid chance of getting the Dem POTUS nomination that year.

Which is why he had to be stopped. With the hard yanking of his slave chains via a concerted media hit job in January and running all spring and into summer.

https://www.thecrimson.com/article/1984/3/5/jesse-and-the-jews-pbtbhis-is/

The slippery, manipulative rhetoric in that piece still astonishes me to re-re-re-read.

I won't digress further into direct experience of the Rainbow Coalition in the burned-over former-powerhouse city I grew up in. Suffice it to say you're slapping the faces of the blacks I grew up with/around (70% by my later teens) with comments like that. And the founding stock whites. And Puerto Ricans. And Greeks, bohunks, Scands, russkies, ukes, wops, micks, and all of them brought in to do the dirty hard work of boomtown industry. Used and discarded by the City of London in 1971. Responding positively to the grassroots populist potential of the Coalition.

John Geis's avatar

To a nonparticipant in his marches, Jackson always sounded far more interested in being at the head of the parade than in the wellbeing of the marchers. For example, his comment in 2008 about Obama that he wanted to “cut his nuts out” because Obama was upstaging him.

Dena's avatar

It all adds up to being a menace to society. Interesting though that such low iQ individuals can evade the law for so long & prosper from the suffering of others.

Linda Whitney's avatar

Street Smarts is different from IQ.

John Geis's avatar

It’s not the these scumbags “evade” the law, as much as mush-for-brains jurists impose involuntary self-flagellation on society for imagined “sins of the white fathers” by imposing minimal sentences on repeat violent minority offenders.

E. Grogan's avatar

You've made some very good points and I agree with you.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

The advent of Social Services/Child Protective Services, was the Government's way of continuing the low IQ and parental abuse. Any one who argues differently does not know how difficult and lengthy a process trying to adopt a young, foster child actually is! You cannot imagine the number of years and chances the drug addicted, neglectful 'Birth Mother' is given to get herself clean and gainfully employed.

The system is set-up to fail the child on favor of the Mother, despite the number of children she has created and with multiple sperm donor/Johns' to feed her habit. She is an expert at pumping out and dumping little humans! This is another reason abortion is a farce.

In my opinion and judgment, Women with children, seeking welfare and those who come into contact with CPS more than once, should be sterilized for the good of Society and themselves. How can we care so much about Stray Cats and Dogs not producing and neglecting their offspring, yet so little about human offspring? It does not compute and is clearly unsustainable and cruel!

Linda Whitney's avatar

Lisa, you get it.

I know this is true from having a family member who has adopted kids from this pool.

Do you remember this? There was a white woman back in the 80s (I think) who was paying black women who were caught up in this cycle to be sterilized? She was helping them get clean as well and pointing them toward education. Of course she was vilified and called a eugenicist.

I don’t know how it turned out, but I’m guessing that isn’t happening anymore.

Our sorry excuse for a society seems to be dedicated to sustaining cruelty. There are too many paychecks in the practice.

Korpijarvi's avatar

Apt and perspicacious observations. The depth and nature of the cruelty that dovetails in here is a very important element.

The stuff we saw in the burn/emergency/trauma unit (and long term rehab) in my city of origin was so bad, I didn't dare breathe a word of it to anyone (other than BET and EMT friends who already knew), lest it destroy their spirits. I had no idea what a burden it was to carry till about 15 or 18 years ago, when I coredumped on "Paul Kersey"'s Stuff Black People Don't Like blog in response to one of his grueling pieces of excellent observation. I pressed send with a scalding sense of fear...then was stunned to receive within several hours an astonishing number of replies from EMTs, ER workers, other first responders and LE, coredumping similar experiences.

From that day on I never again awakened in the night trying not to scream, out of dreams of what we all had seen. What we faced every day, going in.

What I'd now describe as our altruism and love turned into chains of trauma. Realizing that was a huge awakening moment.

I never excused this vile behavior/its outcomes in other realms of observation, Lisa. But there was a sort of chasm of communicability with those who never witnessed it. So, say, you're in a discussion of Civil Rights or Racial Justice or [fill in the buzzword], and you're sitting there thinking of what you're discussing, or, in my case, what we all saw. What is done to the most vulnerable, by the most debased and deranged. Anything you say is going to be rejected out of hand by anyone who hasn't seen it for themselves.

I could digress into my discussions with adamantly anti-abortion/anti-birth control people, but I've said enough here for one day and the rain has stopped. I hold you and the other good BRAYSOG souls in warmth and prayer.

Thank you for saying it, Volva. It is absolutely obvious.

This research is actually being done on a broader scale than ever before but the results are being smothered by corporate media and political pressure.

Not too surprising in this case, though...not recognizing or accounting for the consequences of your actions is a common characteristic of the criminal mindset.

Linda Whitney's avatar

…and they have that in common with the Dem mindset.

Zero accountability for consequences.

Doug E.'s avatar

Believe it or not, you brought on a flashback to grade school math, when we learned what is called (I had to look it up) the transitive property of equality: if a=b and b=c then a=c. If that applies here (and I think it does), then it follows that Dems have a criminal mindset. Works for me!

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

The Party certainly has a Platform that caters to criminals! If you continually shout from the rooftops that you are "soft on crime' hold the Borders open to all comers', handout taxpayer money to citizens and non-citizens alike, pass money to NGO's via Federal Grants with out audits and vetting, create legislation to 'legally' steal elections, appoint D.A.'s and Judges that agree with your platform, you then are responsible for creating a criminal environment!

Doug E.'s avatar

Some of those actions are criminal in themselves, IMHO.

ScottyG's avatar

Just as long as you have more “likes” than jail time, it’s all good.

Linda Whitney's avatar

It makes them feel like celebrities so it’s worth it.

WTF have we done?

Susan's avatar

It's definitely good to see these sweeps, but now it's in our face just HOW MUCH stinking garbage and scum need to be indicted. And we have to wonder, will it ever end?

Meanwhile, God bless Bill Essayli and all the law enforcement who are addressing this scourge. So much respect for all, and for Chris Bray too, who is reporting again from "the thing itself."

E. Grogan's avatar

100 "likes" for you post - you hit the nail on the head.

Only $65k for over a year? Is it missing a digit?

Chris Bray's avatar

Right? Soul for sale, eight dollars.

Steenroid's avatar

Some souls evidently are cheaper than others. That assumes these people have souls which is questionable.

It's just a matter of time..... The Stop Chris Bray Act.

LA and California hate nothing more than the truth getting out.

And surely penned by Scott Wiener, bravely defending the sex workers’ rights against Chris’s very mean and hurtful words.

“Federal officials also raided the Stadium Inn in 2025.”

By the looks of it, they’ll be raiding again in 2027.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

Monthly would be more practical. On second thought, the building should be condemned after a six month stakeout to arrest Johns. the results of which should be made very public!

mzlizzi's avatar

Exactly. That’s what I was hoping I would read in the article: that the building was sold or condemned.

JT's avatar

A dollar to a donut the perps will be back on the streets in days…if not already! The arrests make headlines to make the politicians look good…the releases are buried by their accomplices in the media so the politicians won’t look bad.

And so it goes in the great state of California.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

These are Federal Arrests' so one hopes California has little to do with the prosecutions. Though, my Spidey senses are telling me that Socialist money will be involved in the defense of these scum!

Commander Nelson's avatar

These types of crimes are so routine in certain communities that I don't think any solution short of ethnic cleansing is really going to be effective. To keep them is no benefit; to get rid of them is no loss.

nymusicdaily's avatar

if you look at the history of newspapers in this country, one of the most popular pages was the police blotter. lists of those arrested were a perennial source of community interest (and gossip), and it would come back to bite you in the ass if your neighbor saw you were busted, especially for this kind of sick stuff. it would be a lot more work in an urban area, but could be a useful deterrent

Fukitol's avatar

With these kinds of people, I don't think so. Try to imagine any of them reading a newspaper, or getting anything but praise from their fellow degenerate trash if they appeared in one.

Tennessee has (or at least had) a weekly mugshots paper you could find just about anywhere shitlibs didn't frequent, for the same purpose. If it was working as a deterrent it certainly never caused a shortage of mugshots for them to print.

Brandy's avatar

Yep. Mississippi does it in some places and those degenerates share it around for "street cred" 🤢

Vee's avatar

I hope the charges stick and the pimps all rot in prison for the rest of their lives.

ZuZu’s Petals's avatar

This collection of mugshots reminds me forcefully of the ones of the rape gangs operating for years in England. I don’t know how parents of young daughters sleep at night. Our neighbour with two young girls has supplemented their dancing classes with self defence courses. We rejoiced at his common sense.

The British Media usually shows Pakistani families as wholesome, hardworking people exploited by Pakistani youth! So the crime is often depicted similarly to what we see in the South side of Chicago with Black on Black, crime or in Silicon Valley with Asian Gangs invading homes of other Asians.

Just Comment's avatar

WOW, so the massive number of rapes have been covered-up since 2017 ? Have anyone asked "WHY?", what is the purpose of artificially ship in predictable trouble ?

Unfortunately, in my assessment, a young girl (or girl of any age) can take self defence classes until the cows come home, but they will be of zero use when a normal sized man grabs her. She might get lucky and stab him in the eye with a pencil, I guess, but in almost every case she will be basically helpless against a man's superior strength.

ZuZu’s Petals's avatar

I realise that is generally the case, but better to have some means of defence than none at all. As my husband points out, a lucky kick or an elbow in the right area might give one time to escape an attacker.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

True! Back in the 1980's, young women were under attack both in and around College / University Campuses and Shopping Malls in California. Do to the Democrats' policy of Half-Way Houses for parolee's of "non-violent' crimes. What these "HWH's were always in lower income or high traffic areas surrounding Universities, Community Colleges and Shopping Malls!

Young women where attacked, raped and beaten going to and from the Campus Library, their dorms or the parking garages. They were also attacked walking to their cars after closing up shops at the local Malls. We walked in groups or were escorted to vehicles, Sorority or Student housing by security guards or arrangements with neighboring Fraternities. The Campuses installed special 'BLUE LIGHT' telephones connected to Campus Security.

That was back when most men protected women. Perhaps Brit's need to start similar practices?

FH's avatar

I took a self defense class (no arms) a long time ago, one designed for women, and learned a lot about how to use the strengths of a female body and different moves to employ…of course being aware and vigilant is the first rule. Using one’s voice (screaming, shouting, immediately) can sometimes ward off a solo attacker. In other words, it was useful.

But then, I had been developing my city face since adolescence, back when NYC was in the news all the time for rampant crime. A boyfriend told me anyone would be a fool to mess with me. Moi?

Point being, anything is better than nothing.

Learning how to recognize and avoid grooming behaviors would also be useful for all children - doesn’t have to be called that, though.

And LA is going to host the 2028 Summer Olympics! Couldn't pick a worse choice to represent the USA. What an embrassment. Of course travel on the LA transit system is free becouse no one pays and it is perfectly safe, not. Progressive cities are a joke that isn't funny.
