It’s been a single day since I said that we needed a new version of Moby Dick in which President Ahab puts to sea so he can force the white whale to take more federal subsidies, and Elizabeth Warren has already outdone the joke.
In a war between Israel and Gaza, we’re funding…Israel and Gaza. If we could send this Congress back to the 1860s, they’d fund the Confederacy. “Firing on Fort Sumter? Quick, get me 75,000 military volunteers, fully equipped, and give half to South Carolina!” By the current standard, I suspect we owe Göring some money for airplanes.
They cannot stop, and they have no other answers. Their only instinct is to send more cash to everyone everywhere at all times. When did they first start thinking about rushing aid to Gaza? During the musical festival, or just later that day? Overheard on Capitol Hill:
Aide: Senator, there’s a major situation devel—
Senator: Twenty billion!
It’s roughly the governmental equivalent of the premise Nicholas Cage portrayed in Leaving Las Vegas: finish every drop, then die. I’m not sure who gets to be Elisabeth Shue in this scenario.
They fund Islamist terrorists who kill Americans. They collaborate with Mexican cartels who traffic drugs and kids and women. They collaborate with the CCP who also kills Americans. The list is much longer, but you get the point. All these entities hate us and regard us as the enemy, yet we support them, give them money. Meanwhile we stab our friends in the back. How is our government different from the criminals they support? And if they work with all these entities that hate us, how can you expect that they feel any differently? They work against us.They don’t work for us.
Yes, hostages should be first priority... for normal humans. Our elected representatives are not normal humans. All human events/tragedies are pretexts for more money laundering and kick back schemes. Always. They don’t care about hostages. Whether they live or die matters not one whit, unless their death were to either end a kick back scheme or open up another scheme. The more wars and hostages the better... more opportunities for more money laundering.
