We used to teach children how become decent adults. Now we teach children how to be deranged adults, and we teach adults that they are better off acting like children. A recipe for societal disaster.

The horrible flip side to this is that the language of consent, as you intimate in the second-to-last paragraph, will not be abandoned but rather repurposed. Much as chivalry as a loose concept long outlived (outlives?) the age of knights and maidens, the language of autonomy and consent will be put on parade whenever convenient long after the Age of Reason has ended.

You'll own nothing, but you'll sign your lease - "you consented to Hate Has No Home Here when you lived here. Don't like it? Build your own municipal housing co-op!" You'll no longer have meaningful parenting rights over your kids, but by subjecting them to public (or, increasingly, private) schooling, you consented to school faculty doing so. ("You consented when you waved them onto the bus? Don't like it? Form your own school district, which is illegal.")

It's one of many tendrils comprising American anarcho-tyranny, that the law of the land is simultaneously "if it feels good, do it" and "by the way, here's what 'feels good' means, there is statute law in every state defining it, and if someone in a position of power wants to feel good with your property or your children, well, you consented to it by living on the earth's surface."

Excellent and important piece. What's going on now is the opposite of enlightenment with elites leading the charge to discard the lessons of modern history driven (I suspect) by their own prurient desires and depravities.

Moral chaos produces societal chaos which produces political chaos. When chaos reigns the end is a dictatorship or authoritarian gov't and people are willing to accept to end the insanity - think Napolean in the streets of Paris taking charge when the French revolution went off the rails.

This reads like a condensation of Neil Postman's book, The Disappearance of Childhood.

Responsibility in all aspects of life and culture has been watered down to such an extent that we are where we are now as a result. Alongside, compassion has been elevated to such virtuous heights that without the leveling of responsibility and reason our culture has degraded into increasing chaos.

Surely one of the aims of good parenting and schooling is the sublimation of sexual feelings in children and the directing of that energy into personal development and education. This is why the sexes were kept separate in many cultures during secondary education especially. Any movement towards subversion of this principle should be treated with deep suspicion as to the motives of those proposing it.

The root of the problem is parents no longer protecting their children’s right to be children until they come of age.

It's no accident that at the same time the occupational class is demanding that we let them do the thinking ("don't do your own research!"), and at the same time free speech is being eliminated in favor of safe speech, and at the same time children are being sexualized as the boundary between childhood and adulthood is being eliminated, we're also seeing the dramatic erosion of the education system.

Students aren't being taught how to think, but they're not even being taught what to think. That would imply that "thought" comes into it somewhere, which it doesn't. They're simply being instructed in what to feel, which as it happens is whatever the occupational class wants them to feel at any given time. A population driven by their emotions, and with no control over their emotions, is an easily controlled herd.

Being a kid is weird. Maybe I want to wear mom's panties and smoke Dad's pipe. Maybe I'll stick my dick between my legs to see what it looks like. In 1971 my Mom would have rolled her eyes. But in 2022, liberal parents are seeing this and calling a Doctor to get drugs and surgery for their kids. Maybe kids DO need to have consent at an early age. So they can keep these creepie parents away.
