Hey, I was rounded up, sent to a camp, then shot and then deported during the first Trump administration.

I got better.

But yeah it's all gonna happen again, I swear!

There is a word in my language, called "lyteskomik", and this surely is it.

"Lyte" means "deformity" and "komik" is "comedic" or "comical":

"Laughing at the deformed/at deformities", would be the literal translation.

Idiomatically, it means laughing at some who's making an ass out of himself.

Two minutes of asses, I thought you'd have to go on OnlyFans for that, but apparently the NYT is just as good a source.

“There will be no more adults in the room” is funniest thing I’ve heard all week. The delicious irony of that comment is going on my cheese platter for sure.

Expand full comment

Exactly, my question is where have the adults been the last 4 years? It’s bizarre that every time they talk about what Trump is supposedly going to do, it is exactly what they have already been doing. Is it an intentional form of gaslighting, or do they really not see the irony and stupidly believe what they are saying? I actually don’t know at this point.

Expand full comment

Not that Karen - I think they don't see the irony and stupidity.

Expand full comment

Hmmm, maybe, but I have to think at least some of them possess intelligence and are not so far beyond self-awareness and objectivity that they see it, but just don’t have enough moral integrity and the courage to speak up.

This shit is so grossly irresponsible. Sure, the vast majority of people will dismiss it as hyperbolic nonsense, but some won't. Some will 100% believe all of this is about to happen. Some will be scared.

And if the pandemic told us anything, it's that the people to be most frightened of are the people who are most frightened. Reddit is absolutely teeming with shitlib whackos who are talking about killing "MAGA" people. One guy even created a database of all the residents in his city who put up Trump/Vance signs.

A frightening number of my Facebook friends are posting tearful videos, suicide hotline information, and pleas for immigration lawyers so they can leave the country. I don't think we are living in the same reality.

Expand full comment

For real?! That is actually disturbing. I'd be upset if it happened to me. None of my on-line friends are remotely like that. I do fear that the friends I lost in the Mandate and maybe some family members are capable of believing some of this weird insane stuff. They don't talk to me at all anymore.

I hope many of them including the “celebrities” are successful in getting passports and leaving the country. We could do with a lot fewer of the 68 million who were insane enough to vote for Harris/Walz.

In his recent interview just before the election with the enormously likeable Winston Marshall, the stuck - on - himself Eric Weinstein made a valuable observation, that the campaign has been a battle between two different realities.

“One guy even created a database of all the residents in his city who put up Trump/Vance signs.”

Did he name his city? I might want to move to a target rich environment of people who want to kill me for voting with the majority.

I’ve periodically thought about, if a true insurrection were to break out, what should be the strategic & tactical objectives, and who should be targeted (in general, the only category on that last list was university humanities professors, with others likely identifying themselves as events progressed). But at NO point did I imagine targeting individual, non-combatant citizens. I can’t think of anything less American.

Frankly, I didn't find it funny. I found it disturbing. The one guy says, in effect, voting didn't stop Trump and neither did other means (meaning the barrage of lawfare). So, what does that imply? Other measures need to be taken to stop him?

What are these people saying, without coming out and actually saying it? An arrest? A coup? An assassination? Do these lunatics really believe this or are they intentionally engaging in borderline criminality in order to provoke a backlash from Trump so they can splutter "See, he's rounding us up!!!!"

The election wasn't the finish line. It's the starting line and the next 2-1/2 months are going to be interesting as the Left works themselves into a foaming-at-the-mouth rage fest.

It used to be that when liberalism still existed and was a sane and honorable thing, most theatrical talent in the United States could fairly be described as liberal in their political views.

But with that venerable liberalism having been supplanted by East German psychology, look what has become of its theatrical talent: the Real Men for Kamala video.

Meanwhile, Matt Walsh has become a countercultural great satirist.

“What are these people saying, without coming out and actually saying it?”

I vote that they’re suggesting assassination. Not that any one of them has the cojones. “Coup” doesn’t work, because he’d still be alive to be rescued.

These Democrats don't have a clue that the fact that they GENUINELY BELIEVE the delusional things they're saying is the very reason why they lost this election.

That is the irony… all the things the left attempted to do to Trump only made him stronger. I can’t speak for what the proverbial straw that broke the camels back was- all the conspiracy theories that wound up not being conspiracies….. telling us Biden was fine and then overthrowing him and installing Kamala… and then transforming Kamala from a historically bad and unlikable vice president to the 2nd coming of the messiah. But at some point through all of the absurdity a majority of the electorate FINALLY said enough is enough.
