"We are led by people who are completely lost". I disagree with your closing statement Chris. We are not "led". We are ruled. In an increasingly iron fisted manner. (As you have pointed out in many posts.) There is some question as to whether our lords and masters still qualify as "people". There is some question if the creatures who invented and promoted the sheer depravity of the climate change and covid scams; the recent decades of blatant corruption; and the systematic destruction of all that is just and good would still qualify as "people". And I suspect these monsters are not "completely lost". How many wars have been started, intentionally, just to enrich a few 'defense' manufacturers, (and their bought and paid for politicians)? How many folks have died, prematurely, because of our badly broken, completely monetized, barely functional 'health care' system. Completely amoral - yes. Completely venal - yes. Completely evil - yes. But not, I suspect, "lost".

So. I wonder if they are lost, but are also so convinced of the sheer righteousness/rightness of their behavior that they literally think they can do whatever. Like that Nina chick. I mean, just watch her demeanor and her behavior and that’s someone who was not afraid of public opinion. She was RIGHT and it didn’t matter. This public education mess has been brewing for decades-to-a-century, and as word gets out of how corrupt they ACTUALLY are (and have always been but are now emboldened) they can feel the threat. We’re having a battle in my home state about pornographic material masquerading as literature in school libraries, and parents are getting scoffed at for being “book burners”. But then get some attention when they produce the material itself. School board people are still defending the books being available...why? They’re still too afraid of the hands that steer the massive education pirate ship.
I pray that you are correct but worry but maybe we are the ones who have lost touch with reality. So many things have happened the past several years that no one would have ever dreamed could happen in this country just 10 years ago. But now they have become the norm.
We use the word "lockdown" for example as if this were something quite normal. We watch the FBI break down the doors of grannies, automatic weapons at the ready, while ignoring criminals who have been caught on video stealing an election. We watch the FBI ignore Hunter's laptop even as they go after Rodger Stone and General Flynn on technicalities as if they are heinous criminals. We watched two sham impeachments of a sitting president on evidence that did not exist even as we had video of a vice president doing exactly that for which they were impeaching the president. We watched citizens killed by the Capitol Police as if they were the Gestapo. I repeat that I hope you are correct but fear that the real problem is that reality has changed and we can't believe it.

I mean the fact that they shelved it after only a couple of weeks tells me they knew it was BS but did it anyway.
