On November 11, Los Angeles had a giant fire that badly damaged one of our most important freeways, forcing its prolonged closure.
On November 12, California Governor Gavin Newsom, joined by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and other state and local officials, promised a major effort to clean up illegal storage yards and garbage-strewn homeless encampments near the freeways, immediately reducing the fire risk.
