Spend 48 seconds of your life watching what happens when a society codes policy disagreement as hate and cruelty:
It’s a pile of insane premises, one after another. A head of state explains — from hiding in his secret location — that he likes protests he agrees with, but stays away from protests he disagrees with, ‘cause that’s hateful. What you see here is a liberal, in hilarious theory, who rejects the most basic premises of democratic pluralism. He only likes protests that he agrees with, you monsters! Go HOME, stoopid disagreer people!
(YOU KNOW WHO ELSE DISAGREED WITH PEOPLE THAT’S RIGHT ADOLF HITLER THINK ABOUT IT)
A government of people who think like this cannot be sustained. It will fail, and must. And then this has to go, because this is the root of the Prime Minister Zoolander tree:
What we’ve lost is the entirely ordinary adult posture that people see things differently sometimes, so we have to talk to each other and figure out what to do about it. We’re left with these voids in human form, these empty people with a tissue-thin skin that gives vaguely human shape to an endless supply of nothing.
Adding that Zoolander's comments on BLM protests echo something I said recently about the nature of protests that make demands on people in positions of authority, but make demands that people in those positions of authority wish to have made:
