Proving that literally anyone can get on TV, I have an hourlong interview available now on Tucker Carlson Today, a portion of which was excerpted on the prime time show last night. It involves me complaining about stuff while accidentally looking old and uncool.
Also, having recently watched the drooling idiot Ben Smith “interview” Tucker Carlson by berating him and talking over him and repeatedly demanding that he confess to crimethink, I have to say that Tucker is an interviewer: He listens to what you say, he lets you talk, and he follows up in ways that show he didn’t arrive with all the questions fully pre-written on a Ben Smith-style here’s-my-agenda notecard before the discussion. It felt like a conversation between two human beings, if you can imagine that on television. It is, by the current standards of television news, real freakshow behavior, and I’m grateful for it.
I’ve had remarkable luck lately in the talking-to-people department, and if you enjoy this interview you’ll also enjoy a two-part radio interview I did recently with the wide-awake and thoughtfully independent journalist Trish Wood, available here (by scrolling down in the list of episodes) or here and here. I talked to Trish on Australian radio while I sat in Los Angeles and she sat at home in Canada, and we had some audio problems in the early portions of Part One, but the recording quickly gets better.
While you’re here, I should shout and wave my arms to let you know that I wrote a book about the way that societal conflicts have played out in the history of American military justice. If you pick it up, you’ll be joining a very small club of discerning readers.
If you’re new to Tell Me How This Ends, here are a few greatest hits to get you started, concluding with a two-part series on Jim Jones, Jonestown, and the ways that Peoples Temple feels familiar in 2022:
Thanks for reading.
Wow, Chris! Congratulations on your well-deserved meteoric rise 👏 Let’s hope you shake some people awake. Looking forward to watching your interview and listening to you and Trish (who’s great).
Holy shit. Congratulations man, that's the big time. That's well deserved exposure for one of the funniest writers on Substack.
