It’s beginning to look like Current Thing has a three-year life cycle in the age of government-funded mass propaganda and ubiquitous social media. [Specific thing] is absolutely necessary, and criticism of [specific thing] is dangerous disinformation that Putin probably paid you to say, and then….the protocols for [specific thing] have been revised, and [specific thing] is now obsolete. But anyway, let’s move on.

Emily Oster infamously proposed an amnesty for Covid policy, but the truth is that we have an permanent standing amnesty for all policy. After a twenty-year nation-building project in Afghanistan, the Taliban holds the country and arms itself with abandoned American weapons. How and why did that happen? Dunno. Everyone must inject themselves with the minimally tested mRNA products that we….wait, new memo, don’t do that anymore. Why? Dunno. The value of the dollar seems less than stellar, right now, and groceries sure are expensive. Why? Dunno. A variety of things happen, and then some other things happen.

And so, as the academic-media-political complex pivots to the theme that transgender stuff is so meaningless, why is everyone still talking about that, my best guess is that you can look for the protocols around “gender-affirming care” for minors to gradually be, you know, reevaluated.
